Hey, in the spirit of Neon's thread about his travels, I haves makes one of my own, for ma up n'coming trip away from the work (handed in notice) and around the world... !!!

I'm excited...

I think my general plan is: Leave in March/April to New York... then SF... then across the big puddle, stopping on some tiny flec of an island on the way, to Aussie land and Singapore and Thailand and Japan for the NFF before slinking my way back home... next (09) year.

I wanna do tons and tons of spinning and learning, and meeting all the crazy bods from around the world who spin too... I'm bored of these UK spinners... wink

Well that's the plan.

There are festivals I would like to go to... like:

IJA – July 14-20th – AMERICA

BORNFIRE – June – SINGAPORE

Wildfire – June 5-8th / sep. - AMERICA

FireDrums – May 1-4 – AMERICA

Play – July/August – UK

EJC – August 2-10 – GERMANY

Common Ground – October – AUSTRALIA

MelJC – September – AUSTRALIA

JFF – September - JAPAN

JJF – August – JAPAN

BJC – March – UK

Berlin – june/july – GERMANY

531Con – October – FINLAND

campburnyourself – july – SWEDEN

and the ones I'm going to really try and get to:

BJC – March – UK

FireDrums – May 1-4 – AMERICA

BORNFIRE – June – SINGAPORE

Play – July/August – UK

EJC – August 2-10 – GERMANY

Common Ground – October – AUSTRALIA

JFF – September - JAPAN

I'm getting the feeling that zipping back to europe might not be so hot an idea... but well, we'll see...

Any advice, ideas and offers of couch's mucho appreciated and gratefully received.

Hey milady. Am assuming this is the Sydney Juggling Convention (I have been known to be wrong!!). SJC is in Jan each year https://www.sydneyjuggling.com.au/. Would be happy to have you at any time though.

I forgot to mention the importance of sequins... and not being made of lycra... that's important.

Yeah, so if i were to appear secretly in a silver sequined jumpsuit, it'd be like that one. wink

Okay, about to book these flights... there's a super cheap deal from london - JFK - SF so I'm gonna get that. Probably leaving start of april coming back end of may. Another got any objections? Might try and make some weird bus journey trip to boston, maybe montreal, then go to SF, LA and Portland on the other side. In time you know, for stuff.

And aussie land looks to be about 800, which could be worse. I should figure out the dates I'm flying out on, or somebody could tell me, which would be nice. Anybody know how expensive a trip to japan from australia is? Apparently it's cheaper if you are in australia... it's quite difficult to buy such a journey in the UK.

Can't be too careful.

I might even wear some dungarees, and remove some teeth as well. Banjo playing might prove to be a good way to pass the time.

Not if I banjo outplay you! Young un.

So it looks like I leave for 'merica at the start of april and stick around in NY area for three weeks, then pip across to the west side for five weeks and then go home to recuperate for play and the EJC. Some time after that, I trip over to aussie land, and take in CG, hypercube, JFF and Bornfire.

Seems like a good crop to me... biggrin

Hey Meggy-

I have quite a few friends attending Wildfire on the American NE so I'm debating going - but if you're in San Fran during late April/May I'll be around there as well.

We should hang out sometime :]

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm coming back through NYC it's a weird flight, I enter america at JFK I'll probably leave for the west coast after three weeks, and then I fly out of LA at the end of may back to cosy britain. So I don't get a chance to get back across for wildfire, it's just out of my date range. frown

However, would still like to hang out with ya, with your rice also, if you're around at the start of april....

No it's not! It's like a 6 hour bus journey! Or a tiny ass flight. It's close.

So now the plan is:

1st April Arrive at New York JFK. (I'm worried, what are flights like on the 1st of april?)

23rd April Fly from Phillidelphia to SF. (I just chose philly for a laugh, force me to explore the east coast a bit, maybe I'll get up to boston too.)

25th April - 10th May - do firedrums in LA and other stuff.

Some time in May, try and get to portland.

30th May, leave from LA.

Yays!
