Posted:Ok, I'm Getting excited about poi again because of these, and I'm putting this in 'advanced' because it's relatively new. tongue

Basically, they're a double stall, one poi vertical, one poi horizontal, done so that the poi make right angle when they stall, either at the head, or the handle end. the stalls can be done in SOOO many places.

They're an excellent way of cleanly going into quarter time spinning/moves.

I found a quarter time airwrap, or right angle tangle, as well as loads of places to create rightangles, and also a few that you can move the right angle so far. Not forgetting defined paths (snakes in the Contact juggling sense, or rails) where the poi bends around a 90 degree corner.

What cool stuff have other people discovered with these?

Pretty old skool stuff, they've been around for a while, but stil fun biggrin

G was messing around with them, combing them with floats as well.

Can be done in loads of patterns too, not just vertical and horizontal :

Whislt obviously possible in 3D (atomis i suppose) they'd look a bit rubbish really.

Almost certainly technical.

Posted:I dunno Chutney... there's something there with breaking out of wall plane...

if we remember that stalls are one of the best ways of changing between planes... you should be able to make right angles all around...

I take it you're doing BTB as well, yeah?

And then there's the head together, hand together, and head & hand together variations...

Not forgetting the other paterns Durbs showed... I forgot that a sloppy douple upwards stall makes a right angle... wink

What about incorporating helicopter throws into them... then I reckon we could get some proper 'Lego poi' going...

As to how rubbish or how totally unrubbish they look: it depends on the plane orientations your coming from, the lines your stalling to, and the performance plane(s) they are viewed from... Weeeee 3d spinning ubbloco
