I thought about mentioning that, but don't think this is the right place for discussions about it. Let's just keep it for remembering all the good work she did throughout her life.

Posted: all depends on how much you know i guess, wouldn't personaly class it as selling out, she did alot of fantastic work and alot of fantastic work is still being done through what she started, there is more to her than just the body shop,

Posted: Yeah I understand that, but in my opinion it goes totally against the whole ethos of the body shop. That "fantastic work" (any examples btw?) is directly profiting a company that most certainly does not do "fantastic work".
She was a great woman though, im not disputing that.

Posted: L'Oreal would not mess around with the concept of the body shop for starts, its just bad for business, and although there is a bit of double standards i am pretty sure she knew this. Nothing like trying to change things form the inside. she had a really strong dislike of the cosmetic industry and this way all of the other 'main stream' compainies would of has to take notice now, and indeed most of them have. L'Oreal are a huge brand and in the nature of cometiviness the other compaines have to step up.Plus she didn't keep all the money from the sale and used alot of it for the rest of the campainging which is what she was about. as for the fantastic work done on behalf of the body shop, they have launched another part of the Stop Violence In the Home campaign focusing on the children who have gone through far much more than they needed to. so in my opinion its worth it.
