nooooooooo they really are good when you know how

don't give up

tip
1 relax your eyes
2 don't actually look at the picture
3 crossing your eyes sometimes works
4 look at it close up so you can't focus on it and slowly move it away from you

result: you'll see sking rabbits and the like

Never assume
Always Acknowledge

I can do all of those on demand but still can't see the damn things, I'm like that dude from Mallrats trying to see the sailboat.
"Oh, look a schooner"
"Ha Ha, you dumb shit! It's not a schooner, it's a sailboat!"
"A schooner is a sailboat stupid head!"
"YOU KNOW WHAT THERE IS NO EASTER BUNNY! THAT'S JUST A GUY IN A SUIT DOWN THERE!"

sorry just got a little bit sidetracked there by the Mallrats script

Anyway I heard that the really intelligent people of the world can't see them no matter what so I'm sticking by that!

well i'm f***ing intelligent and I can do them so jemima isn't the exception that proves the rule..

.. you're just wrong

though I do hear long (or is it short)- sighted people can't physically do them so maybe it's just your eyes

I can do them!!!

I used to do these when I was in elementary school. They used to print 3-D stuff onto book covers for our school books. The trend of them sorta died off.

I tried to make one once...I think I did ok?

Oh and I'm near-sighted(see things up close but not far away) so it must be that far-sighted(see things far away but not up close) people have a harder time seeing them.

Toodles!

I too was once of the type that couldn't see the damn cool pics inside the pictures. Then I won a calendar with 12 of them. So, I had to figure out some way I could use the thing, so I set out to train myself. The thing came with instructions, but they just weren't helping any. People who could see them would tell me what I should be looking for, but that didn't help either. So, for about 3 weeks, I would sit down with my calendar for a little while each night. I would start out by holding the thing right up against my face, and ever so slowly bring it a few inches from my face. Gradually, I was able to figure out how to "focus" my eyes properly to see the imbedded images. So, for all of those out there than can't yet see them, rest assured, there is still hope. Oh, and it is really cool the first time you see one.

my friend sketch is re-writing his magic eye animator soon.

you render all your frames in a 3d package as a depth map and then feed them into the package.

its genius - i'm desperate for someone to pick up on it and use it in a club. on a massive screen at ground level it would just look like white noise... until your eyes defocus and you get a full-on moving 3d animation jump out at you!

i was also thinking you could project it onto a net curtain - it could then be seen from both sides and if you can't see magic eye's normally, you can just look through and focus on something behind the curtain.

sketchy is wicked

I remember a commercial that was on TV a long time ago where it was talking about something, but it had to do with a trick. The narrator of the 'mercial said to focus on a black dot in the center of a thick red ring(looked like a bullseye). You were to keep staring at it for a few seconds, and then when the thick red ring that was surrounding the small black circle disappeared, you would still see that ring around the black dot. Instead of the ring being red it was now a greenish color. I thought it was pretty damn spiffy! I wish I could see it again because that was the only time I got to see that 'mercial.

Yes very fun.. Much easier to do if your eyes are slightly ****ed anyway (short sighted etc.,).. Always thought they were pics of bunnies and dinosaurs until was wondering down side street of Melton Mowbray (pork pie country) once and noticed some up in a window..relaxed my eyes... Amusingly obscene 3d pornography jumped out ! Highly amusing...
