Hi

I want to get some fire poi, and i dont know what type to get!

Im a 19 year old male and still relatively new to the sport and currently spin with both ball and tailed poi and Im looking at fire poi but there are so many choices!

Can anyone help?

Im thinking medium weight would be ok and the ball chain but do people agree? and what wick/end should i use?

Cheers smile

CATHEDRALS!!! biggrin wink

I've got short ball-chained cathedral fire poi...

Easy to swing, and they have huge flames.
They were my first fire poi, and I don't regret the purchase. tongue

I got them here at the HoP shop.

I've been spinning these for quite some time now, and I love them.

Standard single head cathedral poi is the perfect thing for beginers as well as experienced people.

I also started with a par of monkey fist poi. Huge flames, a bit heavy but youll get used to it. In my opinion theyre the best performance poi you can get these days.

I'd go with the HoP Cathedral poi. They're light weight, easy to spin, and have good control. If you feel confident with you're spinning I'd go with the Monkey Fists. Only because they are good for performing, have a lot of flame, and are just an all-around good pair of poi.

mmm ok i asked the people in my society this question not long ago. what they suggested for a first set of fire poi was to go medium weight, whatever chain you like except wires which are horrible :P and keep the wick small. so naturally when i finally bought some last sunday i chose the biggest wicks i have ever seen - because i took one spin with these poi and fell in love with them biggrin i had never span such perfect poi... https://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/firetoys_performer_fire_poi_24.html#aFT_2fPFP_2f24

however - it depends on you really biggrin maybe try borrowing some other peoples poi, and try out a few before deciding what you want smile then you will get a feel for what you are most comfortable with smile
