Directions would be appreciated as I don't know the city.. just asking 'cos a friend just had a go with mine now wants a set, I'm not sure if she just wants a practice set or some funky glow stuff or something..
Thanks

Posted: Hi Tris,
There's the kite store out in Coogee (kitepower, I think) and a little shop in Newtown, that I know of. Honestly though, I'd buy first from HoP. Good price and so on. And usually shows up in record time.
Other than that, Australian Geographic sells some stuff. But nothing you can safely light up. And the poi are a bit too light for my liking

Posted: Indenial is still in Glebe (just down from the school on Glebe pt rd). Not sure how good the stuff they are stocking is, so check carefully. They used to stock stuff made by Sid from the circus stall in Glebe Markets (sadly defunct), and if they still do it will be guaranteed good quality. My first staff was a Sid's special from Indenial and it lasted forever.
The shop in Newtown that Patrick is referring to is on King street just down from the station (take a left when you get out of the entrance, and cross the road). It is Happy High Herbs. There should be fire equipment in the window to help you identify it (along with a lot of herbal concoctions).
The Kite shop in Coogee stocks (or at least used to stock) Mr Babache swinging clubs, which are a dream. Haven't really used their poi, so I would check the quality closely.
It was a day for screaming at inanimate objects.
What this calls for is a special mix of psychology and extreme violence...
