Tell everyone about the bands that you think don't deserve all the credit they get. Here's my list.

10. Mad Caddies (there's much better similar sounding ska-punk out there, eg. Streetlight Manifesto)
9. Elvis (seriously, sounds like crap!)
8. Sex Pistols (sound terrible, made a mockery of the whole "punk" thing, commercialised it and the public bought it.)
7. The Stranglers (One good song)
6. The Spice Girls (They was huge! Also effin' sheeeeite)
5. The Beatles (they were good-ish, but nothing special)
4. Johnny Cash (boring boring boring)
3. Nirvana (Kurt Cobain was also a wang)
2. Any drum and bass (people actually listen to that?)
1. Rage Aginst The Machine ( I HATE THIS BAND! Everybody goes on and on and on about them when really they are a boring, repetitive band with no imagination)

I could give an endless list of bands that don't get the credit they deserve.

I cant give you 10, but I seriously don't get the whole U2 thing. Yes, theyve got some good songs, but theyre status has been blown way out of proportion. I don't like the beatles either, I just don't see the appeal...but thats just me.

is there a single band on that list that you actually grew up listening to? or did you simply decide to pick some random bands from the past that dont fit into your present day music tastes & give them [censored]?
music is about context mate - the place, the time, politics, social change, and for that matter influence on the next generation of artists. i know loads of musos who would lynch you if you rattled of some of those names as overrated.

ok Sealey i don't agree with all of your choices but your entitled to your oppinion

My top 10 overrated bands/artists are:-

10 - U2 (too much hype)

9 - The Rolling Stones (they're good but have they ever heard of retirement)

8 - INXS with JD Fortune (chose the wrong frontman)

7 - 50c (was stupid enough to get himself shot repetedly)

6 - Eminem (get over yourself)

5 - Kylie Minogue (she started off in Neighbours)

4 - Akon (let us know when his balls drop)

3 - The Pussycat Dolls (yes they are hot but they can't sing)

2 - The Spice Girls (you only like them because the radio shoved em' down your throat)

1 - James Blunt (how can anybody like a guy who's surname rhymes with C%#t)

And there are many more that i could add to the list but the thread only calls for my top 10

Please note that my musical tastes may differ from your own and in no way do i wish to offend you but some of these artist just don't deserve the recognition that they recieve.

May my balls of fire set your balls on fire devil

Oasis.

Just... what the hell?

They're just not that amazing at all.

James Blunt, The Fray, The Kooks, The Arctic Monkeys...

They all suck. Suck suck suck...

Damn them trendies...

Id prefer No Girls Allowed.
I'm getting serious gynephobia at the moment.

The pussycat dolls? Isn't one of them a man?

Plus RnB music. Steal old songs, then warble and/or talk over the top, thus ruining them, ala JoJo stealing africa by toto.

Fecking makes me puke.

Bob Sinclair- love generation was mildly ok... but anything else? no

thats all I can think of off the top of my head... I dont listen to the radio much so I dont actually know what is popular enough to be over-rated
