Posted:Okay, so just to clarify:

I catch a train from airport domestic to Bowden Hills platform, then catch either a Kingston/Beenleigh/Roma Street to Gaythorne platform?

Please let me know if this is correct smile

Posted:You change at Bowen Hills to catch the Ferny Grove line in the direction of Ferny Grove. Gaythorne is around 6 stops. The train will have come FROM Beenleigh/Roma St. If you change at Bowen Hills and go TOWARDS Beenleigh you are going in the wrong direction. smile Do not do that. It will make you unhappy.

I'm somewhat paranoid of them not getting through on the other side. Packing them shouldn't be a problem as I intend on taking a suitcase and laying them flat inside the case, but it's the baggage handling staff i'm more concerned about smile.

I guess I have the 'shipping-fire-toys-for-the-first-time-on-domestic-travel' jitters smile hug

Posted:Things will only be confiscated if they seem to be weapon like in hand luggage OR so stinky that they can be smelled outside a suitcase. In which case the bearer deserves a smack in the head for not washing (with detergent) /drying/plastic wrapping them anyway to remove any possible flammables.

Once again, my dear son has flown in from the UK with heaps of fire gear. He was absolutely taken apart by customs/quarantine. Had to wash every one of his shoes etc with toothbrush due to UK festival dirt and fear of foot and mouth disease. They glanced at his fire gear, said: are they washed? He said yes and they had no problems with them.
