Some of you have probably seen this before, apparently it's been doing the e-mail rounds, I just got it and thought I'd share with all of you.

Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask "How are you?"
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?

You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,"Hi"

You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.

When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

Take care and take the time to experience life!

Dilbert's Words of Wisdom -
I can please only one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow is not looking good either!
You are slower than a herd of turtles stampedeing through peanut butter!

Oh yeah.... Don't tell the ants

I remeber the day I read this poem for the first time and it made me cry . I copied it for a few of my friends, I think it was written by someone who was dying (if my memory serves me right) and made me realise that the words she/he wrote came when they were maybe too late. thanks for sharing this again. I had lost my copy and had forgotton all about it until i read it just now. It makes you realise how prescious life really is, thanks for giving me that wake up call again! Its amazing how we get so caught up with the 'small stuff' in our lifes that we dont take the time to see the bigger picture. I hope all the members on here read it and take it in. Words have a very powerful affect!!!!
I recieved something recently in an email......i think you might like it too, I shall go search for it and post it on here for you to read
Big hugs

Angie

These poems depress me. They make me think about the choices I've made and how those very choices have stripped me of my control over my life. They make me think of the breakneck speed at which I am forced to live and how I have to give up all my dreams and aspirations if I want to regain control.

My dreams and aspirations are the most important things to me. I will have the power to change lives, to heal the sick, to give lives back to people who thought that they were lost. But it doesn't make it much easier to reflect on those things that I have given up.
