Hello everyone and welcome to PLAY FESTIVAL 2007!!

Please forgive me for the lack of info, I have no computer to use and it'll be a few weeks more until I'm able to update it more often. I'll come back and put more up as and when I can.

Hopefully most of this info you'll have gotten from our newsletter, if not sign up to it on the website now! www.playfestival.co.uk

We had a wonderful 5 days last year and can only say that 2007 will be even better!

Thanks to everyone who came last year and who gave us feedback on what they thought of the festival, we've taken all comments on board and hope we can make the festival one that you'll enjoy even more than the last.

The dates for this years festival will be Wednesday 25th - Sunday 29th July and we will be at the same venue, Fordhall Farm in Market Drayton, Shropshire. The tickets will be £35 in advance and £40 on the door, that will include most workshops, 4 nights camping, the shows and other entertainments during the festival

We have lots planned for this years festival, more areas to play in with the emphasis on getting everyone involved, we will have a proper go at the world record after last years attempt didn't go so well (although it does look awesome on video!!!) and of course the usual abundance of workshops to keep you all busy in the day.

We'll have two stages this year, the main stage/tent and and nice little caberet tent, a solar powered cinema, a PROPER bar & food tent and a few more folks selling the stuff you want to buy (even if you don't realise it yet! heheh)

New for this year will be the PLAY HOP Amateur Performance of the year. It's a little competition we've come up with that can be entered by anyone for any type of performance. No more than 4 minutes long with a cash prize for the winner and the chance to feature on the next PLAY DVD. As you might guess from the title the event is sponsored by HomeofPoi.com (who have proudly given us the prizes for our games over the last two years). More details will follow soon...

The DVD of last years festival will be out at some point, probably exactly at the time we plan it to come out wink Focusing more on spreading knowledge to learn the arts than the last DVD and we're sure it'll knock your socks off!

If you want to contact us about anything please email us at one of the following addresses:

info@playfestival.co.uk

comments@playfestival.co.uk

volunteers@playfestival.co.uk

traders@playfestival.co.uk

If anyone wants specific footage from last years festival please wait until after the DVD is out, Strugz & co are busy enough editing the full thing to start making cuts for people! Thanks smile

As my internet access is sporadic at best till my pc is up and running, I might not be able to reply to email straight away, if you want to talk to me about anything call me on 07814 018091 and if you don't get an answer LEAVE A VOICEMAIL!

Keep checking the website for the latest information and we'll send out newsletters as often as we can.

hugs & smiles

Dunc hug

Meaning some one could use your order confirmation to gain access to the site illegally.

So what you're saying is that someone might turn up at the gate and say "Hello, my name is Joe"??..

But only if they have a wife and two kids. ubblol

if you have a problem with me, come see me at play

i will be happy to talk to you face to face about your problem of me telling you and everyone that you should be careful about openly posting your order number on a public site.

also, i can discuss with you, about how to express your opinions about our ticket sales to use in private also.

this is called pot calling kettle black.

Mech have we ever met or what? Im just abit confused that you seem to think I have a problem with you personally, but my point still stands, all you had to do was sed me a pm about this, then I could sort it out in a few seconds. I odviously hadnt realised this until now.

Im sorry you took offense, but this is osial chat, and home of poi no less, its full of jibberish, and its not meant to be taken seriously.

I dont want an argument. Ide rather you just edit your post instead of having to get a moderator involved to do that.

Glad you did that Mech - Nice move editing your post. I think Joe had a legitimate concern
I personally took her original post to be a p*ss take, tongue in cheek about ticket sales and a genuine mistake for posting her number - im sure she was unaware.
Anyway its all sorted so we can all be friends again.
Shame I was looking forward to there being more Joe's than Rob's!!!

Yeah - had a brief chat about that on the play site.

There's a few considerations but if everything looks ok then we'll give it a go.

Also they will (bar the tiny amount of copper wire needed) be completely biodegradable and environmentally sound (even the glue). biggrin

What's Play like for food? Anything handy in walking distance, or is it a good idea to bring lots of food&drinks?

Is anyone going from/past the Hertfordshire area with space for two in their car? We'd really like to go this year, but getting there on public transport with tents and all is a nightmare umm

Obviously we'd be happy to help out with petrol costs/provide a few beers by way of gratitude biggrin

Food n' stuff - last year, there was veggie catering most of the day on site, meet grill at points during the day with fantastic fresh meet from the farm (lunchtime, and i think in the evening too, I forget). There was also another little tent I really hope is back again, that shan't be named as I want all it's chocolaty goodness to myself wink

I'm sure I read somewhere they're looking to improve the overall food situation this year too.

market drayton is a short drive away, with a supermarket etc. I think someone said there was a little shop within walking distance but I didn't get there myself.

i know its being anal retentive, and i do love the diea...

but it occured to me, about the wire, is there anything ese we could use, i wouldn't want a cow/sheep or any animal to accidentally eat a small piece of wire and cause them injury

but i love the idea of bio-degradable stuff..

i love the idea smile
