I just hopped online, after reading a small poster, to say:

The Firegathering Festival 2008 is on its way!! It's being held on the 16th-18th of May near Horsham!! More info at www.firegathering.co.uk!! Who's going?!

And then realised that I was waaaay beaten to it. tongue

I heard there's some really good contact staff workshops (And Sandy is teaching? Brilliant.) - so I'm keen on going.

Hope to see you all there.

Sichainey, the more workshops and teachers the better - surely? ubbloco Lots of people benefit from gaining insight and pointers from different practitioners, and there'll be loads of people to help.

Look forward to the F.L.A.M.E show!!

Well, I guess I won't fire spin for three days. wink
I sometimes prefer spinning unlit with the staff, as the performer's body and movements are much clearer.

I was unaware I needed an 'adult' - but if its a hassle then I have some friends aged 17-21 who are going, so they'll have my back.

None of us have bought tickets yet though, as some of our group are debating whether they should leave it and go next year instead. ubbloco

As annoying as it may seem; if you can't find a willing adult to take you in, then you'll have to wait a bit until you're older. If someone takes you through the main gate as a 'responsible adult' - then they're likely to be held responsible if anything bad does happen. Which means that anyone who doesn't know you quite well IRL may not be prepared to take such a responsibility.

Not that anything bad should happen; but you have to keep in mind that you're not just asking someone to help you get through the gates, you're asking them to take responsibility for you in the unlikely event that something does go wrong.

I can't really think of anything that would go wrong. But lets say you pitch your tent far away from the adults that helped you into the festival, and then for some accidental reason, your tent caught fire. People would want to know where your 'adult' is, and why they let you roam off on your own near all the fire displays and the like.

May sound silly, but you can see what I mean.. =\

I just talked to them, and apparently you need insurance to firespin!

Hey buddy,

This only really applies for performing, you obviously cant just walk around anywhere spinning fire due to (i hate to say it) health and safety, Ive been 2 years now and loved every time and have always been able to spin fire in the designated fire spinning area.... look forward to seeing your fire numchucks!! biggrin
