~*~ COMMON GROUND 2007 TEASER ~*~

!!!!!!!!!*********COMMON GROUND SITE IS UPDATED*********!!!!!!!!!!!!

www.common-ground.net

we will be updating it progressively as we confirm / think of stuff closer to the date.

------------------

Greetings to all you fine, dandy, spangley and sparkly people!!

Just putting the word out…..

Common Ground is an Annual object manipulation and lifestyle meeting held from Friday the 5th of October to Monday the 8th of October. It's aimed specifically at people who want to relax, have fun, share and learn in a positive and supportive environment.

Set in the picturesque Adelaide Hills, the location has ample room for camping, workshops and more.

Mainly focussing on (but by no means limited to) Twirling, Dance, Music and Circus related skills. Workshops cover a very wide range of different interests and skill levels. From complete novice to professional performer, we think we have something for you.

Core to the concept is participation. The event is created by those who attend sharing their skills and experiences with others - to borrow a phrase thrown around at Burning Man:

"No Spectators, only Participants."

Although, if doing every workshop isn’t you style - just chill out and contribute to the relaxed, happy atmosphere.

Confirmed Dates:

Friday 5th October

Saturday 6th October

Sunday 7th October

Monday 8th October

The dates are a week later this year giving the crew time to be completely set up and running by the time people arrive Friday morning.

Friday – arrive anytime, gates will be open at 8am. Workshops start in the afternoon.

Saturday – **Show**

Sunday – TBA

Monday – workshops and offsite by after lunch.

We have already had some reservations on workshops these include:

Yoga

Drumming

Learn how to DJ

Yogaeria

TICKETS – Limited to 150!! And yes they will sell out!

Early bird - $30 booking before August 31st

Just missed the worm - $40 September 1st – October 4th

Missed the boat - $50 on the door if there are any remaining - there weren't last year

Please email if you would like an EB ticket – go on be the first you know you want too!

IDEAS: for workshops and contributions most welcome.

As in 2005 and 2006 – there will always be smiles, fun, madness, music, dancing and laughing.

Stay tuned for future updates.

Cheers,

Kate and the Common Ground Crew

Rope dart would be great smile I'd need to locate a rope dart first though!

Best way to locate a rope dart is to make one. Get 3.5m of 8mm cotton rope from bunnings, put a hole through the middle of 3 tennis balls and thread the rope through, tie a loop for your hand in the other end and you have yourself a rope dart! cool

As for workshop time, can I have just before lunch on Sunday please? smile

I have a ball threading too that works really well. Also good is a loop of wire to pull it through so the holes dont have to be as big.

I am mid=planning for the next Oz/NZ tour and this is definitely on my itinerary. Wanna hook-up with all the lovely FireCrew from Oz again and as it looks like Woodfood may not be happening for me this year (Gabe - ive been trying to contact them about whether they have received my Promo Vid or not - but havent had any confirmation - who am I best to contact?) This has GOT to be it. Are all the Perth crew flying there? I am kind of thinking about coming to see you guys 1st - then heading over to Adelaide
Ben - Do you need a Compeer/whip workshop leader/Pomme dreaded hat manipulator?
Im trying to get things sorted now - but its still a little ways off. Really hoping I can do it though - CG is gonna ROCK!

Its not too late to buy tickets - but fence-sitters be warned! every year there are people who leave buying their tickets to the last minute only to miss out because they do actually sell out! so if you are coming, we suggest you buy your tickets. They are cheaper at this point too - but the price rises if you leave your buying til the last month before CG smile

*ditto what Brenn asked*

Unfortunately due to Univerisity commitments on the Friday (which is my birthday, in case you all forgot wink) I won't be flying in until evening. I'm hoping I'll be able to get to the grounds somehow and not have to live at the airport for a weekend!

.All things are beautiful if we take the time to look.

mmm any volunteers for doing pick up duty?? I think Kate and I might be a little bit busy to do this particular job...

Its only a 10minute drive from the CG site to the Paradise Bus station, which airport people can get to 24 hours a day but catching the JetBus from the airport direct.
