Poi on the Patio - DivX avi (30mb)

Such a lovely sunny day this morning I thought I'd have a spin...

The polyrhythm buzzsaw fountain is really sketchy, as are a couple of other things... Perhaps had I not been constantly looking at the reflection in the windows would've been better wink

Wow, some really cool stuff there!

Btw, the stalls ( opposite stalls ) your doing at 02:34. How long have you been doing those? I stumbled upon the idea 'bout a month ago.

And I thought I was the only one so far. Haha... At least it didn't take long before others started doing it.

Anyhow, you gave me some inspiration on how to get into them in more then the ways I use currently. So thanks!

Keep up the good spinning man! Its' cool to see people play with rythm!

smile A while, I nabbed them off Mr Chutney who's been doing them for a year or two (at least...)

In fact, most of the moves are nabbed off other people... I could almost make a subtitle track to it crediting different moves to different people ubblol

So er... if you're watching this and thinking "Hey, I showed Durbs that move, he's nicked it" - It's not nicked, it's borrowed tongue

Isn't everything borrowed?

Nothing's new?

But it's the way you do it, makes the difference...

Ah... A new skool poi vid. Ive been waiting for something like this to pop up so I can really get a feel of how all the latest geekery can be applied together since I've been too slack to really get into it myself. Good goin, Durbs. I'll probably be ganking a few of these ideas. Thanks wink

Great stuff MR.D smile

As ever your vigorous use of almost all the different schools of tricks 9hybrids, throws, contact stalls) all rolled into one nice package is both inspiring and gut wrenching at the same time.

I need to get outside biggrin

Ah... A new skool poi vid.

Cool... I'm new skool , yet with a sub-1000 member number I'm also old-skool ubblol

Maybe I'm just "skool".
Or "Current skool" if you take an average.
"Mildly historic skool"?

Well, I figure this is the most new skool vid to date... Videos over the past year have been rather lacking in new ideas and concepts. Mostly the same old moves in a different order. Some vids give a glimpse of these new ideas but you got em all... Polyrhythms, hyrbrids, 1.5's, and some new lock out/flowery patterns which I find especially nice.

I feel like vids will start to look more like this from now on.

That was wicked.

I liked the way you incorporated the glides. nice footwork.

Nice soundtrack too.

Polyrhythm stuff looks weird to me... but the rest of it was cool wink

nice contact poi too, when it worked. wink

Tempted to put it on MoM...

I commented on youtube but wanted to post here too. Ditto everything Icon said...it's been awhile since I've seen a poi vid that was really new & fresh, and this one displayed a good application of a lot of the newer concepts out there. And it was all so smoothly integrated and had such lovely flow.

geekery + flow = ubblove

taken out of context i must seem so strange
