Anyone who wants to go to this years Glastonbury Festival (and everyone should do!) needs to pre register for tickets through the https://www.glastonburyfestivals.co.uk/
website between the 1st and 28th of February.

Pre registration should hopefully stop all touting of tickets as you will have to submit a photo with your pre registration details. If you then buy a ticket your photo AND details will be printed onto the ticket.

Just make sure you dont forget to register or you will not be able to buy a ticket!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this Festival and have been many times in the past- However I can't help but feel that they are going a bit far this year with the requests of Photographic Evidence of your identity!!

The idea seems so opposed to what the spirit of the Festival is supposed to be about.

What do you think?

I think the gate policy is fine. You dont really want prats spoiling the experience. As ever, I expect once through the gates, it will be as joyous as ever!

Seye, i presume you're going for it???

Most definitely dude biggrin Will you be joining us in the stone circle with the fire toys?

I think the pre reg policy is a good idea as long as they publicise it well. If some people just don't hear about it in time that would be pretty lame.

If this stops touting I'd like to see it introduced for more events. There's nothing worse than knowing you're going to struggle to get a ticket when they go on sale then seeing thousands on ebay the next day at 4 times face value.

As for it being opposed to the spirit of the event - I'm willing to make sacrifices with regards to getting a ticket and getting in because I know that once inside that monster fence the whole event will be amazing.
There really is no other festival like it.

I'm kind of tempted to go this year, but it means taking such a huge chunk from my year's time off work that I think I'm going to have to give it a miss.

It's a choice between Glastonbury or the Bristol Juggling Convention and at the moment I think that Bristol's winning.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.

Applying and all that.

I can't help but feel I put in all that infortmation, fail to get a ticket.

So then I'm just sitting there goibng "aww crap".

I dunno. Maybe I'm just being apathetic...

Flash - nothing to do with apathy is a driving force tongue

personnally i think its a bit of a chore but it should mean that the tickets go to people so in (theory) it should be easier to get a ticket with out all the touts buying hundreds... in theory

I have never been!!!

anyway i was thinking about maybe going depepnding on costs etc.
i am not keen on the whole photo ID thing though i have huge gripes about it as it is, and where will it stop? although i am not going to get on my soap box about the dna data base etc. i would like to know the policy behind the pic id, how its going to be used who is going to have acess over it etc. Are they going to be checking with other data bases to vet people before they let them have a ticket?
lots of questions but i am going to shush now
