As far as Neutral Milk Hotel goes, I liked On Avery Island better than I liked On an Aeroplane... Which is not to say that I didnt like Aeroplane, but (with the exception of "Pree-sisters swallowing a donkey's eye" that one was too strange) I liked Avery better. All good stuff though.

hmm maybe my list is stretching it, but all these people are incredible and vaguely indie -

DeVotchKa, Beirut, Neutral Milk Hotel, Arcade Fire, Sufjan Stevens, Múm, A Hawk and a Hacksaw

besides that, I've recently discovered Klezmer that is as different-sounding as it's ever going to get smile

I get to see The Faint and Gogol Bordello (separately) within the next two weeks!!!! WOOT!

Whats the best live show you guys have seen? Mine's gotta be Depeche Mode, even though Dave had laryngitis and couldnt finish his set. At the time, I was really disappointed, to say the least, but Martin came out and sang a couple songs you dont usually get to hear, and I realized that I saw the band in a way that most people never will, and I count myself lucky.

Oh I know I know.
It's just if the thread goes any further there will be alot of artist to search through.

People posting praps a link to just one of there suggested bands means only one person has to search one, rather than lots of people searching everything.

This is TOTALLY my thread biggrin

I'm a massive fan of the genre. Well. Aswell as everything else. I can't be bothered writing out all of my favourites, but I'd strongly suggest you all go check out Gotye (pronounced "Gore-Ti-Yeah") - https://www.myspace.com/gotye
- Independent original aussie music FTW!

Oh, oh. and check out Frou Frou. They're amazing. https://www.myspace.com/froufrou

biggrin

We want a band, that plays loud and hard every night-
That doesn't care how many people are counted at the door-
That would travel one million miles and ask for nothing more,
Than a plate of food and a place to rest.
