Hi everyone,

I got sent this intern opportunity at the Circus Space in London - just in case anyone is interested!

Internships - The Circus Space

The Circus Space is devoted to enhancing, protecting and developing the circus artform via professional education, production and creation. Every year our five programmes involve thousands of people in the physical challenges and artistic pleasures of the circus arts.

Our diverse range of work includes the UK's only degree-level education in Circus Arts which is supported at either side by a structured training programme for under-18's and professional development opportunities for aspiring and established performers. Adults and young people can enjoy recreational classes as well as, a varied and growing series of performances. We also run highly regarded workshops, away days and team building events for the corporate community.

The Circus Space is now looking for committed students or recent graduates with an interest in the performing arts.

These are exciting opportunities to get involved in The Circus Space's work and learn more about what goes on behind the scenes in a busy central London arts organisation. Successful candidates will have a passion for the performing arts, a keen interest in circus performance and a commitment to their own personal development. They will be a creative thinker who is able to think on their feet and find solutions to administrative/ coordination challenges as they arise. They will be strong communicators who enjoy working collaboratively and have a clear willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.

We are currently looking for two people to join our team. The roles are:

1. TEAM & PERSONNAL ADMINISTRAOR

An administrative role, to support the day to day running of the organisation (including general office duties, minuting meetings and developing filing systems). This placement will allow insight to the day to day running of the whole organisation and a chance to learn more about the decision making processes and joined up planning needed for a multi purpose venue. TIMES: to be negotiated , a minimum of 3 days a week for a minimum placement of 3 months

2. YOUTH PROGRAMME ASSISTANT

A coordination role to support the youth programme. This is a hands on job, which needs someone who is able to think on their feet and adapt to situations as they arise. It will offer a real insight into the needs of a busy youth programme: duties will include sign posting people to the right class, taking registers and being available to answer queries. TIMES: TBC, a minimum of 1day a week (Sundays) for a minimum placement of 3 months

Our internship programme offers an opportunity to be part of The Circus Space team, and to gain work experience and skills within a leading cultural organisation as a first step towards a career in arts management.
