Posted:They will eject/keep/toss out toys with any form of fuel on it. I wouldn't do that. Hell, I've had a set that had been burned in, that I'd cleaned what I thought was well, called into question once.

Just buy it when you get there.
It will save hassle at the airport.

Posted:They always have been able to look through your baggage, that's nothing new.

They also swab the inside of your luggage looking for traces of explosives.

*shrug*

I did a search and Pele of 2003 would have said:

Juggling balls generally don't get allowed for one of two reasons:
If they've got a synthetic filling, it tends to block the x-ray thingies, and if they have a non-synthetic filling, such as grain, then most places won't let you take them, lest there be bugs.

Posted:synthetically filled ones might be ok in your luggage, i'm not sure if they x-ray those... grain/seed filled ones are still a no. you'd have to declare them and they'd probably take them off of you, and if you didn't decare them you get arressted for smuggling.

my experience*: bring the staff (or poi), buy the keroseen when you get there

*i tried to bring a bucket of keroseen on the train from New York to DC. although I am a blonde, white, female, the authorities were not too happy. I landed up giving my buisness card (with me twirling) to half of the NYPD just so they would take the keroseen and let me go. it took 12 hours and i'm pretty sure i'm now on a terrorist watchlist.

Basically:

1)No bottles or containers of any flammable liquids AT ALL

2)Sticks or poi soaked and stinking of paraffin have no problems from flying from Sydney to the UK. Virgin Atlantic might lose your sticks at Heathrow but at least they courier them out to you later in the day wink

3) Devil sticks are a NO. They are seen as a weapon umm

4) Same goes with juggling clubs.

5) You CAN take juggling balls. Australia and New Zealand are, to my knowledge, the only countries that I can think of that are so strict on what you can bring into the country. So that means NO natural products can be brought INTO these countries. You can take as much OUT as you want though. Synthetic fillings are fine to take in as long as you realise they might have to cut one open to check the filling. For internal flights, why shouldn't you be able to take natural juggling balls through, if they were bought in Australia? No problems there.

The only problem I had was demonstrating what I did with the crystal ball as it looked really wierd on the X-ray machine - never thought I'd be busking at Heathrow Airport security (They were all suitably impressed)

Never tempt fate with stinking gear.
Last year Ninaruna had their stuff stopped flying from Sydney to NZ on Virgin cos it stank. It did too. Weird thing was they flew flew it up from Syd to Brisbane so I could pick it up on their behalf!!
