ok...so its a lie....just thought you would all look if i said that..

anyhoo i was wondering if you could help me with a problem i have..

at sheffield poi in the park i took loads of cool photos and videos......on the way back on the train....the pics...um....they er....got cough cough deleted cough cough

i was sent a link by thistle to a programe called photo rescue which is able to get the photos off your camera even if they have been deleted (fyi- photos on a digital camera arent actually deleted...the camera just says its ok to write over them,....what the programme does is instead of talking to the camera and saying can i have a look on the card at whatcha got....its says right...im goin to have a look myself what is on the cam...)

here lies the problem...the version it links to is only an evaluation programme ie it lets you see and save the group of photos it saves but you cant save them individually in a format you can seeon the computer without paying $38 for...as i need it probably on ly the once i really dont want to pay it....does anyone have a copy of the programme they could email me or give me a link or even let me email them the file it saved with all the pics on so you can do the biz and email me back the individual piucs so i can post them up for everyone to see...there are some stunning ones as well...

any help is mucho mucho appreciated

Jon - if you get the info, can you pass it to me? My best friends managed to wipe all the photos from my Zimbabwe trip, including the most amazing photos of me spinnign my flags at sun set in the bush..

Whats the worst that can happen? Having all your fotos deleted by a friend who then doesn't use the camera at all!

I honour you as an aspect of myself..

how long have they been there for? if you have taken lots of photos since then they wont be on it....basically...when you press delete all on the camera it doesnt wipe them...it just keeps a note of where on the card it can and cant write to...

Now UCOF - that would be highly illegal to copy a software program.
Why not download it illegally for free?

I don't condone this site (It does have a lot of porn links on it and you'll get inundated with pop-up windows) but it's actually quite good for searcing for warez and crackz.
If you have the trial version - there's probably a crack for it that will open it up into the full version. Most demos you get of full programs with either limited time or restricted features do have the full program installed - so when you register, it just unlocks the program.

www.warezcrawler.net

Type in your program name and select "Crackz" and it'll search for you.

Oh, and you ain't seen me - right?

eh, the search engine on warezcrawler suxx, but I usually find what I need by drilling to down into particular sites. Never used it to find craks, used to use astalavista for just craxx, hmm..If nothing else, try looking on the gnutella network, bearshare n kazaa werk pretty well. Might just find the entire program..Just to get the pixx off eh..

I'm afraid so. Also lots of other fantastic pics. I know they were fantastic because I saw them before they got deleted.

Are we nearly there yet?

is this removable memory like smart media or compact flash, or an internal memory camera? When you connect it up to PC, does it use usb and automatically appear as a drive?

If so the procedure should be very straight forward, i'm suprised there arn't thousands of freeware programs to do it. In general, computers that store data, store it in chunks of data on the drive, then keep a table which tells it where each file is physically stored. When you delete, instead of writting over the data it just either removes the entry from the table for the file or sets a flag saying it can be written over. It isn't until you try to store more and it writes on top that its gone. Undeleting files in many cases is just a matter of restoring the entry in this table. Of course it isn't as simple as opening up this table in notepad, but it's not particularly hard to make a program to do so for an averagely accomplished programmer. Windows 3.11/DOS (6?) used to come with and undelete program, but MS scrapped it with win95 for some reason.
