Anyone else attempting to do this?

I am not expecting to finish it due to time constraints but I figure I'm going to give it the old go at.

I figure if I can write at least 6 pages a day, without editting, then I should be able to do it. Now, if only it will come quickly so that I can turn those pages out and still get everything else done...that will be the true miracle! wink

Good luck if you do!

(btw..I am PeletheTart on there)

Me, me!

It's my first NaNoWriMo attempt! But I've been sick the last two days and incapable of writing anything really coherent and good. (My project: George Romero Lied)

What are you working on? ubbrollsmile

It's my first as well.

Originally I wanted to use this to encourage me to finish a project I already started, but I think that would be cheating! lol

So I have an outline of a story I thought of awhile ago and never went back to. It is over a girl who is actually a modern siren. This causes her alot of issues, so she is seeing a shrink...it's a recounting of her life to him...

Though I am not comfortable with it so I have a dark adventure that has been kicking around that I will probably end up doing instead. lol

No name yet though. Actually, no nothing other than an outline, which means I best get my bum in gear! lol

You're already doing better than I am. No outline. Just a concept and a vague idea of a socio-political psa.

lol..you haven't seen the outline so I wouldn't give me that much credit! lol

I figure it's 175 pages in 30 days, I am aiming at completion of something to go through editting only to be shelved as a crap novel (like a Harlequinn Romance). However, I just want to challenge myself to do it.

No ambitions for great american anything here! biggrin

Lol. See, my idea stemmed from telling people and threatening around me that, if they didn't come up with something better, I was going to write about zombies.

It blurred into a comedy when we were joking about the Zombie Survival Guide vs. George A. Romero movies.

Then, it turned into socio-political commentary.

.... I don't know what I'm writing!!!!

That's awesome! lol

Mine is based on D&D characters I used to play. How's that for bad? wink

I have 1,285 words. I'm supposed to have 50,000 by the end of the month? Ohhhhh man, does that give me perspective! lol I think I am a couple thousand behind.

I'd love to. Is it on every year? Cause THIS year I should really be writing that thesis, so that NEXT year I can write a novel by "Dr. Birgit" smile

Got some chapters for a book on my computer, but it doesn't quite feel right yet, so I'll get back to it as soon as my brain's not fried from all the science!

Birgit...good luck on that not frying part! smile

Yes, it does happen every November since sometime in the 1990's. Though this is the first year I've heard of it.

This year you can see how those of us doing it are doing and maybe learn from our mistakes, well, at least mine as I am sure I will make a few! wink

lol...Depending on how I think it is, I may be too embarrassed to let it see the light of day. I don't think 30 days will allow for a high quality! lol

I did figure if I write around 1600 to 2000 words a day, then I'll be set. However, I tend to write single spaced in 10pt font, which means it doesn't add up to 175 pages at all. lol That can be changed I suppose. smile

I tried NanoWrimo a few years ago...it sucks because in Australia Novembers the time where exams are happening. I think I got about 20,000+ words into a piece before lack of inspiration and lack of time got to me.

I should do this at some point, but not this year....I've got a couple of stories that have 10K + words, but I hit writers block on both of them...one's sci fi-ish, and the other is more fantasy based.

Good luck Pele and everyone else!
