Seriously guys...

By all means come to Brizzle on the 25th, but sod juggling in a dingy student union... Come to our small city's Buy Nothing Day celebrations...

A day of free anti-consumerist fun in Broadmead - any performers who fancy braving the elements to entertain the masses are more than welcome to join me. We should have (an as yet unconfirmed) array of music, dancing, anti-capitalist xmas carrols, poi, street theatre, speakers, media activists, face painting, free vegan food and drinks and lots of very lovely people.

We agreed. Which was why the official move naming commitee decided to abbreviate the spineroonie to the 'roonie'

Technically, the move you're doing with your legs is partly a windmill... :P so twister is a silly name too... wink

I vote for 'windmill spin' or something similar... wink

i'm very tempted to come down but it is BUY NOTHING DAY and coming to Bristol and spending money on stuff kind of defeats the object of it... i feel i should try and get involved in some non consumerism locally instead. unless of course someone's willing to do their bit and donate me everything i need for the day in return for some other service or goods they need? biggrin

petrol/travel? (anti-eco as well) food? water? covention entrance? (hardly capitalist evil i know) tribe of frog ticket? I don't generally buy things frivilously anway but I did also want to DO something more for Buy Nothing Day this year and stick to the ethos for the entire day for once...

You've got a point though. I may get a bus ticket and convention in advance and bring a packed lunch with me. It could be a good challenge to do both in one day. We'll see... smile

So...

Hitch to Brizzle... you wont be responsible for any additional carbon emmissions that way

Free vegan food and fair trade drinks in Broadmead...

Sod the convention... Come and perform in the city's commerical center for free (yes I'm still failing to sufficiently commodify poi for the pro-industry lobby)

And why would you want to pay to go to a psy-trance night on any night of the year??? ubbloco

So what's the problem wink

I may be able to give you a lift as I possibly may be driving back from Synergy on Sat Morning and going to BOB...

We can get you froggy a ticket in advance...

And Si said he'd sort out all the food....

So there we are... Nothing...

Although I'm not very good at this buy nothing thing. Last Buy nothing day I completely forgot and bought a new Van Stereo. redface
