So I'm cleaning my apartment and listening to Madonna's "Justify My Love" (flashback, I know) and of course I get distracted by a pair of poi and get my groove on...

What are some other hip shakin', gyrating, grinding, sexy, sultry songs that lend themselves to spinning?

[I'm always scared when I start a music thread that it will degrade into every other of the countless threads. Can we please keep this one on sexy, sultry, make out songs that one can spin to?]

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

I like Bob Marley for make-out music. It's not sultry or anything like that. It's just relaxed and not all cheesy.

Besides, it lends a "tropical" feel to the whole thing.

Ever heard of
"Heaven Scent" by "John Digweed"
That song reminds me of a very beautiful girl...

Heaven Scent reminds me of Groove. I'm a pretty big Digweed fan.

Bendy, Knowing nothing of the song you recommended I downloaded it. It's pretty damn good. I could definitely spin to it. Though it's more of a song that our Cassandra would spin to...

I'm not sure that I could spin to Bob Marley. I could definitely make out to it... but not so sure about the spinning.

I don't think I'm hot enough to pull off "closer"...

How about "In Bloom"
By "Nirvana"
I can spin to that..
How about "The Great Milenko" now if that isn't a makeout song, even if a messed up one.
I don't know what is...

Can you really limit to a few songs here.. I mean Anyone heard of the 'Sneaker Pimps..' hello.. Then there's a very sneaker pimpish song called 'trigger hippie' by 'Moorcheeba'... BT is REALLY good about mixing some sexy beats.. he's mixed some madonna, a LOT of Sarah, but I mean come on.. it's Sarah M. and she is IT when it comes to sexy sounds.. yeah and he's spun some other sexy sounding hotties too..

WORD on "trigger hippie"... I never heard that song before (or the group actually)... Downloaded it and am currently grooving to it. h and Rev, excuse my ignorance (I'm kinda old) but who is BT?

Lunch Box: That Milenko song is scary. Who the heck you been makin' out with?

MisStix: Which song? I looked for one called "I love you" but it's not on that album.

Wessex: Which particular song would give me the best taste?

For me, it's Portisheads "Wandering Star"...

I didn't quite realize how intimate it is to share songs you get intimate with.

Any more?

Try The Kruder & Dorfmeister (Sp?) sessions for a very chilled session. Their mix of Roni Size's Heros has a tastey base-line that kicks in.

yeah.. spin sugar spin remix of the sneaker pimps by moby is good.. maybe not makeout music.. but definately groovalicious...

BT is a dj that LOVES to mix women.. if you ever heard a sexy sounding female voice on a track that made you move, It was probably done by BT at somepoint.. I know that Sarah Mclachlan he uses a lot.. I don't know where he finds some of the tracks he spins.. I wish I did just to hear the orginal..

I once made out to a Monty Python album. It was actually really fun. I mean, we had to keep stopping so we could laugh, and we occasionally paused to sing along (we just HAD to join in on "Sit on my Face"), but I believe that making out should be fun, anyways...

Ooooo! Good topic!

Portishead - most of their stuff is dreamy spinning and make out music. 'Roads' is probably my favourite track. And it's the best make out music, should have come with a sticker on the CD case reading "warning: contains knicker lowering music". When I was at uni and it first came out the entire campus was filled every night with the sound of Portishead playing on crappy hifis, accompanied by the squeaking of beds. Aaahhhh, those were the days

Also Beth Orton, the Terry Callier duets on the Best Bit EP. Beautiful!

I've gotta second the portishead and Massive attack. Digweed is awesome and Air is good for such things too.

the following aren't neccisarily spinning music, but nice for making out:

You all are going to laugh at me for this one unless you know the album, but much of Peter Gabriel's album "Passion" is #$%&ing excellent make out music (it was the soundtrack for the movie "the last temptation of christ"). There are a couple tracks that you have to program out though.

Also several of Beethoven's piano sonatas or some nice classical style spanish guitar (say a composer like Albeniz) - this latter one you could spin to I guess, though it would set a different mood than you normally get with spinning.

Seeing as how the make out music in my life usually comes off my bf's ipod, and almost nothing he listens too, as much as i like it, would be easy to spin too, i'm having a hard time coming up with anything. But i could become the first person to adapt my spinning style to emo.....*grins*

I looove Portishead but find it a little too sad/depressing to be a good make-out music. NYC, check out the following albums:

Air - Premiers Symptomes
Kid Loco - A Grand Love Story
Tosca - Suzuki

IN addition, any Buddha Bar, Cafe del Mar, or Nirvana Lounge CD would be a safe bet.

Let me know which ones work best. :-)

OK Here goes...

1)Air (Premieres Symptomes is good, but Moon Safari... it's... *sob* the best album ever?)
(Zero 7 = English Air = V.good also!!)

2)Beth Orton is also wicked. 'I wish I never saw the sunshine' off trailer park is beautiful)

3)I'm thinking ENERGY.. Chemical Brothers, any of it... Some BIG beats, great build ups and whopping orgasmic crescendo's. Something sexy, 'Lost in the k-hole' off 'Dig Your Own Hole' has a wicked baseline, groovalicious.

4) I would love to try spinning to Mr. Scruff but for the purpose of this thread I won't mention that.. D'oh!

If you need one sexy, sexy song in your life it's gotta be 'All I need' by 'Air' off 'Moon Safari'. If you don't have it, get it.

*Jim, on a 10% commision from Air*

Well Nomad, Cass gave me the Budda Bar CD's I have so I can personally vouch for those...

Peter Gabriel is pretty damn good but has too many college girlfriends imbedded into it. (Pun intended)

I forgot about all of my Depeche Mode remixes...
And one of my high school favorites: "Love on a Real Train" by Tangerine Dream. From the steamy "Risky Business" scene with Tom Cruise and Rebecca Demornay. It was one of the first "ambient" mixes... when ambient was called "new age". Which reminds me, Love on a Real Train is still on my "list of things to do"... hrmm...
