So it seems there might be a few spinners heading to asia this winter with spinning on their minds. I just wanted to see who else is heading over, what their plans are while they're over there.

My tickets are booked! I'm arriving in bangkok 16th november, and returning to ireland 3rd February

I've heard from a lot of spinners of a park in bangkok where people meet up every day to play. Thanks to Banshee Cat for the following info:

 Written by:

It is the Pra Atit boat stop, and the park is called Pra Sumen. I would reccommend staying closish by at the guesthouses on Sri Ayyutaya rd-- Tavees Guesthouse, or Sri Ayyutaya's, or Shantis, all very close together down that road. Nice community... May Kai Dees is a great restaurant for veggie food along near that strip-two locations, one on samsen, and one off the end of Kho San rd and across the st.... Probably more specific address in the guide books...

Nick (poi celebrity number 1 wink) is planning on a poi camp in Pai, northern Thailand, where spinipulation enthusiasts can meet up and play, practice, etc (see his post below). I definately plan on spending some time up there with him during my adventure. Probably stop number one after bangkok... ubbrollsmile

Hi people

Im wondering if anyone is still in Thailand? and if so if I could ask a BIG favour!!
Ive seen a wicked T-shirt that a guy bought on the Koh San Road.
Gotta a cartoon of a monkey on it, with severed arms in bandages and 2 chain saws on the ground - 'Dont juggle with chainsaws'
I REALLY want some of these T-shirts and I am hoping somone can buy and either bring back to the UK or would be willing to send back
Im happy to trabsfer some money to your account.
please PM me if anyone can help
Thanks heaps

Lol, sorry Rob... bought mine in Koh San...

I think, though I'm not sure, but Burning Dan is on his way to the UK in the next couple of days from Thailand, and I think Andrea is heading back there soon, (isn't that right missus?).

G'luck

Orenico, it's kind of tough.... off season you know.

My 2ct and advice: PM BansheeCat and/ or get yourself to KPG and to Haad Tien, or - if you must - to Haad Rin. I am certain that you find spinners there.

Other than that you may be interested in checking out Oud's "juggling cafe" (which is not really a cafe, but at least Oud's place) near the Riverside Guest House, 5 min walk from the park.

Good luck smile

Bangkok nice, hot and rainy? However, I will get there not sooner than September shrug

Just a quick note, for people to pm me...

I am doing a fire circus for a some refugee camps and illegal schools, performances and workshops, here in Thailand, in January. We need a variety of performers, not all with fire, ready to put a show together, teach and travel on a shoestring... there are about ten thousand kids in the camps, a very eager and enthused audience!

See www.dokbua.org for the details and pics of previous years...

This is just a heads up, to let people interested know to get a hold of me. There is no money involved, just a whole lot of amazing experiences.

Some of the big name resorts in Samui and Ko pg are sponsering us, giving us performance space and opportunity for major fundraiser performance nights. Should be wild times!

Would appreciate all the help and input I can get.

Two weeks will be spent here in Haad Tien, practicing and performing and planning, then two weeks of taking it to the kids and sharing with them, performances and workshops etc. We also will bring toys and art materials for the camps. They are located up near Mae Sot, near the burmese border.

I need all you fun circussy folk to jump in a participate! You can crash at my place for the first two weeks, and we will rent a few vans and travel cheaply for the last bit, so expenses will be minimal.

more details as I have them...

love ya

andrea
