i just use naptha. it lights up real fast and burns real hot. i think it shortens the life on your poi too. i don't like kerosene. the smell is so overpowering and it's real sooty.

I've never seen a supernova blow up, but if it's anything like my old chevy nova it'll light up the night sky!

Naphtha, and I also echo the sentiment that it shortens the life of your poi too, especially if you're a fast spinner. Riz apparently has some info on this, and if he releases it, I'll post a link to it.

I have only used Tiki Torch Fuel. I would like to experiment with other fuels though. My brother informed me that different salts mixed in with your fuel mixture creates the different colored flames. Personally, I would like to know what mixture to use, or individual fuel, that will give me longer tails of fire or what is used to obtain the longest tails.

Real Zeke, that'll work. but just remember to read and heed all the warnings on the side of the coleman's can.

Stout i will, in the shop they also asked if i knew that this was not some kind of lamp oil, but real fuel. They also gave me a short breif about the flashpoit smile I'll take care.

Dedphrog i also wonderes about that, but guess i'll find out in a couple of days.

I use something called Parasene. A paraffin based kerosene fuel. Its burns really nice and isn't overtly noxious smelling. Plus at £4 for four litres its not to expensive.

i've not had any probs with the coleman -- but it's really sensitive to wind. which is why usually do a mix with ultrapure lamp oil (either a 2:1 or 1:1 mix)

i dont recommend mixing it with tiki torch fuel.. it really stinks when you light it up (cause of the tiki fuel) and the smell LINGERS on the poi too... i could still smell it a week later. got rid of it by doing a couple of short burns with pure colemans.

i'm thinking about trying to mix a few diff salts and use disposable wicks (terrycloth).

Every Day I add another name to the list of people who piss me off

Kero. The smell has never bothered me either and I like it better than either lamp oil or Coleman's.
