I used to ubblove playing with fractals back when I gave a @#%@ about computers and was heavily into pure maths... fascinating things they were...

now, I mostly just think they're pretty... biggrin linkage, rave... linkage!

dunc, you KNOW i would love to run a small dance tent to cater for the "mash heads" and would give my right testicle to project visuals ubblol

i'm not talking huge, thumping bass 27/7 but something low key, respective of familys etc that carys on as late as people want it to biggrin

it can be done, and hopefully for cheap. open decks policy so new tallent can show their stuff, i know pixie pictures may not be there next year (such a shame) but a small tent like that located well enough away from the camping area, supplied by an independant power source (mobile lighting towers), with it's own bar and possibly a late licence could be viable wink

it's your call at the end of the day but it could work in your favour mate hug

all i'm thinking of is a small scale dance tent, open decks purely to show case the wealth of tallent that hoppers have. i'm not talking thumping bass, nor a mass coalition of mash heads, this is mearly an alternative option for people to express their skills.

i truely hope this option is thought about as it could be fun and hopefully pay for it's self but at the end of the day the dunc-master has the final say biggrin

am very much planning on being at the next Play, and dance tent sounds awesome.

Have to actually start learning to DJ now, instead of just talking about it!! ubblol

fair play dunc (excuse the pun). having been to play and crewed the event i know "it's not a rave" ubblol

i'm not suggesting that, what ever dose and dose not happen is ALL down to the licencing agreements.

i would LOVE to see PLAY take off and expend this mey involve catering for people that would like to stay up well into the early hours dancing their socks off.

it is mearly a suggestion, an idea but something that way need to be talked about more hug

please bring back pixi pictures as the have the tent, they have the equipment and knowledge wink

I can see Play becoming a bit of an AV thing on the side. What next? DJing and video editing workshops?

You aren't thinking or really existing unless you're willing to risk even your own sanity in the judgment of your existence.

realtime animated fractals smile

I think milkdrop that comes with winamp is my favourite visualizer (edited, I'd put geiss at first, been so long since i've actually bothered with one I'd forgotten)

ridiculously pretty as the xbox 360 jeff minter one is it's a bit overcomplicated and messy most of the time.

There is a fractal program called Apophysis that i use

www.apophysis.org

It produces flame style fractals which is the ones that are alll whispy and wierd...then i run a script on the fractal I create that will create a series of 'rotations' which then can be made into a movie with something like window movie maker...similar scripts can be used in programs like the again 'tierazon'...you could always purchase 'Ultra Fractal'....there really are a large variety of programs and methods you could use to create fractal animations some much more complicated then others

Fractals are actually a big thing for me i work primarily with them in my college major so if you need any information feel free to ask
