Does anyone know about the Huge metal ring prop used in circus acts where the performer spins around inside it ?

Video Link

Ive seen a double layered ring too which has rods connecting them. The performer can then hold and stand on the rods between the 2 rings to avoid rolling over fingers.

Does anybody know what they are called or where they are obtainable? confused

I can't really see any business letting you try before you buy. You'd be better off looking for a local gymnastics club that uses one.

Get on Google and see whats about in your area. Other than that try ringing some of the suppliers on that site and ask them who they have sold to near you. Explain to them that you need to see if you like it before you purchase one from them. They might help.

Well I emailed John at the Rhoerads group and he was very friendly and seems very easy to talk to.

You would be very welcome any time to come to our club and have a go. If you are too far away for an evening, I occasionally run one day workshops. I've nothing planned at the moment, but probably early next year we might do one.
Have you seen our website? www.rhoenrads.colles.me.uk ? there are details of wheels and suppliers etc on this site.

So there you go. Ask around and send out a few polite emails and you could get your wish of trying before you buy.

I think it's usually called a German Wheel

There are some amazing moves you can do on it, but it requires a lot of strength- it's a proper Circus discipline, not something you can pick up quickly.
