apologies for this totally random thread but i had to say something - i desperately want to go to this workshop:

sacred geometry workshop @ alex grey's chapel of sacred mirrors

if there were such a thing as a matter transporter (or a pair of those red shoes like dot had in oz, or even just the boosh AMULET) i would use it to go.

and i would take nick with me and we would take some poi and we would manifest in physical form the very thing we're discussing.

f*ck paper plates and compasses - i'm talking about direct manifestation of roses and hypocycloids in space.

this workshop represents possibly the best opportunity ever to explore the poi-mind-geometry link.

damn i wish the world were smaller sometimes...

*le sigh*

carry on people.

I think we should both go down there and just stand outside. Y'know... just to rub it in.

Or we could just pool our $80 and go to paramount and get like a billion blinkies.

And Cole, you obviously need to live in New York.

That would make my life 423 happiness points better.

But be warned. Despite my best efforts to convince the Dutch to retake New Amsterdam, New York is technically still in America. frown

I think you're just making up an excuse to go to new york, surely you can do sacred geometry at home with the help of the internet and a spirograph? then you can also poi it at home too smile it'd save you 40 dollars and an airfare.

Aurinko freedom agreement reached 10th Sept 2006

if it makes no sense that's because it's NOn-sense.

i don't need another excuse to go to new york non - i already have about a million!

the best of which are "go stay with mike in his ghetto-fabulous pad and then hang out with some hippies near matt's swanky 'how the hell can a high school teacher afford this' apartment in the village" ubbrollsmile

i bet you two 'mericans saw alex grey's 'collective vision' dome at burning man too didn't ya?

we have a print of the original piece at home, hanging above our mantelpiece... ubblove

Don't think so.

But I was hanging out a bunch in the Smoochdome smooching my girlie. And counting pentagons of course. biggrin

Oh, and if you can't make it all the way to New York... I can always send a piece to you.

Oh, Entheon? At Imagenode. Esplanade and like 5 or something... That's where we had our fire conclave meeting! We spent tons of time in there. Molly and I even hung out for a while (since we were dumb enough to actually show up to the meeting 'on time') and looked at all the cool art that was in there.

Yup. It was cool.

Gnomes!

i don't know, these city folk, they come to burning man, wander around without ever knowing what anything they're staring at actually is, and then they give out some gnomes for twenty minutes on saturday afternoon and leave thinking they contributed something.

i bet they spin fire and think they're cool too...

wink

can you tell i'm still sore about not coming?

Oh hey, Alex Gray is doing live painting this Saturday at a crazy party that most of my posse will be at.

But I should really do laundry.

Plus I'll be too tired after staying up all night playing "Space Invaders" on the wall of a library.

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

OMG, that video made me want to vomit. I hate it when conspiracy theories take one scientific fact and stretch it. "Hitler wore white underwear, therefore..."

Are people really that dumb?

Wait... don't answer that. Ignorance of Ignorance is Bliss.

smile

But funny that they used geometry.

Oh, and the only thing that you Brits might not know, which I thought was funny, is that the 'satanic' symbol that Bush is flashing is actually the "Texas Longhorns" symbol. It's a college football team with a bull as a mascot and looks much more like a bull's head than any Satan that's appeared to me.

I do, however, suspect a link between Bush and Texas, I just can't quite make all the pieces fit yet...
