I got some in Camden market( London) The guy there did not know the name either... It was a little store with all sorts of indigenous instruments, drums, maribas, everything... very cool. Annoyed my pals to no end trying to figure out how to play those suckers nicely! he made it look so easy... lol

Have seen plastic ones at regular music stores too.
Good luck!

They are called Kashakas .

I have seen Nii Tettey Tetteh play them and he is amazing! He is part of a musical group called Kusun Ensmeble and he demonstated them during one of their shows.

Good luck in learning how to play them. Although I did not buy any, they intrigued me because they reminded me so much of poi.

I was touched by His Noodly Appendage

they are tricky, one thing is that they work best in a 6 rhythm. And its a very small wrist shaking move....
good luck!

.....Can't juggle balls but I sure as hell can juggle details....
