Hello there everyone...

Hmmm... I'm having loads of problems embedding stuff, so you might just have to follow the links - sorrys!! smile

There's a couple of new things on here... hope you enjoy!

Vid taken in Crescent Park, Belfast at a fire gathering... filmed by David Booth:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=0LO5zNNYAao

BBC Autumn Launch:

We (FirePoise) did the BBC NI Autumn Promotions last year (2006) - it was loads of fun. It was directed by Paul Brolly (myspace/floodvision).

Through some beautiful twists of fate, we (Lisa and I) hosted Nick, Arashi and Andy in Belfast for an excellent week of filming and costumey/make-up fun.

Lisa - Fire Queen

Nick - Fire Glyph

Andy - Fire Warrior

Me - Fire something or other biggrin

Paul Brolly's showreel 07:

Also, while the lads were here, we also did a music vid for new Belfast band, The Tides. The vid has finally been finished and released... and it's on here (Check out Arashi biggrin):

The Tides Music Vid...

(Sometime soon I'll put up a Youtube link with most of those videos in one place... and a complete version of the music vid).

In December 2006, FirePoise, and our lovely poi peoples took part in the Beat Initiative Winter Carnival... dressed as Poirates (check out Durbs and Strugz) smile

https://myspacetv.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=8904370

Then... at the end of last year, the lovely Durbin came a-visiting and posted some vids on his own thread... check them here:

[Old link]

St Patrick's Day:

Strugz, Lisa and I led the St Patrick's Day parade in Dublin in 2007... this is the quality coverage by Balcony TV ubblol. We're on there for about two seconds biggrin

Ermm... there's also a COL vid floating around somewhere... lol, I'll upload it someday... smile

And if anyone watches Becoming Jane... Lisa and I are in there with our fire fans, poncing and wiggling. There's a great shot of Lisa... biggrin

Finally... while Nick, Arashi and Andy were visiting last year, we visited the Giant's Causeway... We took David Booth (camera guy from the Belfast poi clip) with us. Finally, a year later, Sy (dream) edited it together for me... and this is the result... hope you like it!

Guy, there were 650,000 people along the parade route... and it was broadcast live to millions of ex-pats around the world...

Scary is not the word. ubblol

It was one of the most intense experiences I've ever had... and it took Strugz and I, and I think Lisa too, til about Monday or Tuesday to calm down from it.

When we came round the corner and faced down O'Connell St... where most of the people where, and the Irish president... it was insane. There was this tunnel of space, and then just faces everywhere.

Made you feel a bit small.

holy smoke! Were those presenters on crack on what?

And what's more, holy sweet posh director video clare! Beautiful fire spinning. Nice job on getting the gig with that flood guy, it's produced some awesome looking snippets of video.

Yep yep... thanks lady...

Paul Brolly used to do idents and trailers for the BBC in Belfast... he decided he wanted some fire in the Autumn one, and got in touch, it was just after the EJC.

As it happened, I got the call when I was sitting with Nick, Arashi, Andy and Lisa... and so, a few weeks of organising later... we were in Botannic Gardens, Belfast, with uber make-up and Lisa's costumes, gorgeous lighting and smoke and ridiculously expensive cameras, crew and a fantastic director.

It was actually well paid too biggrin

We're hoping to work together again soon... maybe LED next time.

But, due in part to the idents (which were well received in the BBC - Paul's up for an award for them too), he's been transferred to London... which is a bit sad for us.

Hello Hello smile

This is one of those annoying teaser posts... smile

Now that COL has been announced and that's all good for another year... I've got a new video to show biggrin

It was filmed last year by David Booth (the guy who did the Belfast poi video clip), and edited and produced by Sy Taffel (aka Dream... a really amazing video editing guy and generally splendid person).

It features Nick, Andy, Arashi, Lisa and I... on the Giant's Causeway.

It's not an instructional DVD, it's just a nice spinning video in a really nice place... put together really nicely biggrin

Heh.

Ok... I'll upload it over the weekend, or perhaps Monday tongue

ubblol

Finally got it uploaded smile

Last year, Nick, Arashi, Andy, Lisa and I went on a mission to the Giant's Causeway (on the North Coast of Northern Ireland).

We took David Booth (cameraguy) with us... and got some lovely footage.

A year of slacking later, and I got the footage to Sy (on here as dream)... he worked some magic on it... and this is the result smile

I've not allowed embedding on this one... so you'll have to follow the YouTubey link... sorrys smile

https://youtube.com/watch?v=uqfAX6AHxks

(and for some reason, embedding doesn't seem to be working on lots of my other videos from the first post. Hmmm.. Oh well.)

Hope you like it smile

There was a bit more meteor, but the camera was a bit shaky (we didn't bring a tripod rolleyes) and Sy reckoned it was better to leave it out smile

And yep, you have to come to Ireland!

Thanks everyone... and mucho thanks again to Sy...

Unfortunately, as Sy said at the time, there was loads of the footage we couldn't quite use... it was a bit shaky and to have shaky camerawork in the middle of all that loveliness would have detracted from it loads...

There was a great shot of Andy walking up the causeway doing meteor, but, it was shaky.

Will have another look at it though smile
