So I'm considering a trip to the land of Oz sometime in February/March.

Anyone have any ideas what cities I might want to visit? Oh, and be afraid, Malcolm. I'm passing through Christchurch for a night. That one's unavoiadable. hug

9-10 days is crazy, whats the point? not meaning to be rude but IMO being in australia on holiday is all about kicking back and doing things at a chilled pace, you wont get to see or do anything in 9 or 10 days!

you can if you fly places...you could meet lots of people and definitely get an idea of what places are like... but yeah, it's hardly an in-depth exploration!

Quick update on my plans:
I have no ticket yet, no passport yet, no visa yet. ubblol
Dad sorting ticket, me sorting passport and visa tomorrow.
I hope to fly out and arrive with you all on or around 25th September. Hopefully this will mean I can recover enough before CG.
Im then intending to bop around for between 1 to 2 months, meeting people. I would like to go visit HOP, but i dont know if this is feasable.
My sister may be joining me at some point.

I still need bed space...for um.. pretty much all of the two months... no wait.. scrap that.. it is all of the time!
Im only small, I make great Eggybread/french toast, and can do stuff. Is there any space for a Ucof, and possibly his sister please? *flutters eyelids*

As for plans, I reckon I will listen to what you all recommend, and go with that idea ubblol
Where to go, what to see, etc.

Here is a list of who I want to meet/ remeet, in order of preference:
You.

Jon, the flight from Melburp to Christchurch cost me about £200 (though this was winter prices).

Its well worth the visit (for Cherry's cooking, if nothing else wink )

Ok, Brisbane and Adelaide are essentials. MJK, I *LOVE* to flounce around the continent for a couple of months, but I get 14 days, 4 of which will be spent traveling because it's a LONG-ARSE trip from New York to that corner of the world. I will spend one day in Christchurch, so that I can shake Malcolm's hand, give him a hug, and play with his baby. That's a life's goal right there.

And then I get 8 days (because after a trip like that I need to spend some serious sleep time before going back to work...saving babies' lives and all...)

OK. I get three cities in Australia. Brisbane, Adelaide...

And...? (Don't all jump at once, now...)

yeah, as cool as it would be for you to come to tassie, with that time frame i wouldnt say theres much point coming down unless it would specifically be for the Circus fest weekend. wouldnt be able to enjoy the atmosphere if you're so rushed. At least if you just go to Three capitals you'll get to meet some loverly aussie HoPpers and realise how bad you want to come back for longer wink

Don't bother going, it is in Tasmania, which is not a part of Australia.

I have the perfect song about coming to Australia... want me to post lyrics?

Seriously though, I'd recommend the meets or gathering at the bigger cities, and make people come to you...
