well, actually i am the student, i will be going there for studying. but i am good to hang out with and to do some spinning in the park

Anything, is Beijing something like 80miles wide? Imagine having to organise a meet!

well, looks like I'm off to Ankang in Shaanxi province after all: that's like a 6hr trip by express bus to Beijing, but if I head that way I'll keep you posted!

4-6 months, but it kind of depends on how things go when I get out there..

Hey there. I'll be heading down to Beijing soon - my russian visa expires on the 12th November, so I'll be there sometime around then. Would be good to have a bit of a spin!

Im in shanghai, and i gonna stay one year. If somebody is here tell me. Further more poeple from beijing if you organise meeting tell me i will be so hapy to spin on Tienanmen guang chuang or some where like that!

Okay, just booked my trans-manchurian ticket
I'll be arriving in Beijing on the 10th, probably will be a bit f*cked for a day having just spent near on 7 days on the train (damn that short russian visa!), but will be ready for a play from the 11th onwards. Time and a place, anyone? I'll probably be in town for a week or so.

there is nothing like a regular gathering but there are a few people around who do spin. you can contact us here or at www.thatsbj.com (search for poi in the forum).
anyways, this website got some good information for expats in BJ.
i would really like to hear about your experience on the trans-sib. i was thinking of taking it when i go back to europe next march.

Thanks for the offer duh. How long are you going to be there for? I'm just travelling at the moment, but I'll probably be back in China to teach sometime next year, and was thinking about taking a trip up to Mongolia then. Too scared of the cold to do it anytime soon
Totally failed to get myself organised in BJ and have left now, though may well be back sometime next year (again) as I have a couple of friends teaching there now. The trans-manchurian was really good, definately a much more interesting way of getting back to europe. I'm already considering doing the journey again someday. well, I'm in guangzhou for one more day, then heading down to Shenzhen until 2nd feb, then up yangshuo for about a week before heading down to guangzhou for a few more days, then back up to Yangshuo. After that, who knows? Maybe Beijing, but it depends how much money I have: Guangzhou is fun but expensive!

hey, any jugglers or spinners in Beijing from now till around mid-september? I'm staying in Houhai and have been practising in the nearby parks some evenings/early mornings, if anyone would care to join me?
Also, I'm thinking of doing some photo-shoots around well-known landmarks with juggers/spinners/anything else colourful, maybe on the big pedestal things in one of the temples (I'm bad at being specific), on Tiananmen Sq (police permitting, though a group of jugglers should be fine) or even on the Great Wall...
