Does anyone know a good place to buy Kevlar in Brisbane? I can only find it at the Valley Markets.

Also, about how much/metre does everyone pay for it?

I highly recommend against purchasing Kevlar in australia from street vendors.

They tend to over-charge in a serious way. If you have a credit card, buy online from the shop here. It's the best value and a great product. Actually, you can use money orders and bank cheques to pay for stuff here too.

Not that I'm bias. Seriously - I've bought kevlar from heaps of places, online and off and HoP definitely offers best value for money and service.

Where are Beard based in Aust? I would love to know.
Flash Fire - I wouldn't generalise so much. You may be correct in saying that it will be more expensive, but I bet nobody moves as much product as HOP therefore they rightfully need to charge a little more. Excuse me for saying so, but we should be looking at supporting local business. If more of us did, then I am sure prices would come down.

And Maid Marion, have you checked out

You may be right gooble - but I'll leave it to you to support the locals - my money is too hard earned. May be different in QLD, but in Sydney I have seen people charging more than $30 a metre for 2.5inch stuff. Forget paying that just in the hope that if in doing so, I may be able to pay less in 1.5yrs time.

If people come on here asking where they should buy kevlar, I'm always going to offer them the most cost effective way. If the stall at my local hippy markets was the cheapest way, I'd be promoting that.

In terms of marketing, there is a thing call market-skimming and under-cutting.... It's a competitive world... From what I know of the scene here in Sydney, fire toy manufacturers at markets sell staves and poi for SOOOO much more money than they cost to make - perhaps they can take some of those profits and maybe make kevlar a little closer to actual retail price.

And yeah - sweeping statements are my forte. I do it all the time (get it?)
