I am planning to go travelling down under later this year (Sept/Oct).
I am hoping to travel along the East coast between Adelaide and Cairns/Great Barrier Reef. Spending between 6-8 months traveling and working my way around.
I am wondering if there are any places I have to visit or any events happening whilst I am there which are worth visiting. As well as any HoPers who would be willing to offer crash space to a wandering soul.
All help will be greatly accepted and I will update this thread and first post as things develop (i.e. visa, flights etc etc.)

I'm going to Melbourne after i visit Adelaide, then up round till I reach the Great Barrier Reef.
Sucks I won't be able to catch up with you, but maybe later on in my trip as I am in oz until May

UPDATE:
Ok I have decided to stay on in Sydney until Christmas and work in the Newtown area (where I am staying with Madjuggler), then move onto Brisbane and do the trip north to south ending in Adelaide. (as opposed to starting in Adelaide and ending in Brisbane).
So anyone in the Sydney area that wants to hook up and hang out, PM me and we can sort something out.

Hey Steaks,
visit the yahoo! groups site Arc of flame. Twirlers meet each Friday night in Adelaide city for twirling and drumming, but there have been some changes of late concerning location. Hopefully, the web page will have more info

Ok, Partly due to the update I posted above, as well as a couple of other things, I am looking for another place to crash in the Sydney area.
I am currently in Camperdown/Newtown area and would love to stay around here. However, any area close to the city will do (walk, bus or bike ride is acceptable).
I have around a week to find a new place and move on.
Any help available please PM me to discuss details

here's a top tip: save your broken plates and use them in a creative manner, for example, mosaics!

Looks like some people have been a little bored.
I haven't been playing with plates as I couldn't fit them in my bag with everything else
I am no longer staying with Madjuggler and instead am staying in a hostel in the Kings Cross area of Sydney (all you locals can stop laughing it's cheap and damn good fun
), which reminds me in many ways of Amsterdam. If you make the most of everything available to oyu you will only be able to manage about 4 days in the area before you need a time out.In about 2-3 weeks I am heading north to brissy for Christmas and New Year and I shall be working at the Woodford Fire Festival so anyone going to that I shall see you there.
I will probably not be online again after today until next week as net access is non-existent in the hostel and Ican't afford to be getting online in the local cafe too often either.

Unfortunatly Gnor I will not be visiting Perth on this trip down under. Rest assured though I will one day darken your door step
Ed, that is an intersting observation, however I don'e speak German so it's kinda wasted on me, sorry dude.
I surrvived Woodford and had a ball of a time. I am currently staying with Gabe, Ed (Dentrassi) & Kyle who all rock. and tomorrow I think I am heading to stay with Kristy & Troy for a while. Finding work is also pretty high on the agenda for this week.
