Right ive got the foward fishtail down, but just cant get they reverse fishtail to work at all ! its just not happening cant seem to get my head round it, anyone got any tips ??

just keep doing it in reverse with your hand on top of the staff to hold it on and keep doing it forever until you feel a bit comfortable. It's just like doing reverse one beat on top of your hand.

Steve is right. Practise, any way you can, try every variation you can think of, over and over again, till it works.

Fishtails are great, the more you get into them the more frustrating they become...

fishtails are infinitely easier with just a small application of gaffer tape smile

after a eyar of doing them i still feel like there is loooaaads to learn. and i mean your bog standard fishtail too. none of your fancy stuff wink

The thing that's stumped me with fishtail is knowing where and when it take the staff to other side. When the staff is spinning, you want your hand/wrist to be pushing gently up and side-ways against the part of the staff which is spinning downward.

I'm comparing these to poi isolations..simple in concept but a real censored to actually put into practice. I do like the tape idea though, I hope it was serious, because I'm going to try it. biggrin
