Has anyone else seen it? Does anyone have it on their 'puter?

Essentially, Scott Bray is a magician that was performing at a magic awards show. He used fire breathing as his big "finale". He held the torches too close. In the video you can actually see the fire follow the stream back to his mouth, then you can see him try to blow out the extra fuel in his mouth and the fire move across his face and down his neck. He has some after photos of his burns on it as well.

I thought it might go well up here. But also would like it for a lesson. However, I am having issues with my 'puter and can't find it online.

Thanks!

Pele

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! You should have posted earlier! I had it on my computer like 2 months ago but had to reset it, and in a blonde moment...forgot to make a backup disk umm

Time does not exist. In theory, everything with a beginning has an end. Therefore, only things with an end can have a beginning. As time has no end, it has no beginning, therefore does not exist. GO PHILOSOPHY!!!

Thanks Pele - let's distribute this impressive document to those who think fire breathing is a pissofcake...

Even to a professional, fire is hard to control and if safety measures (such like a clean and dry fire resistant cloth in the back pocket) are neglected, one can get in severe problems... eek

And people wonder why I swear up and down that I WILL NEVER fire breathe so long as I live, no matter how curious I met get about it.

..... well.... that, and I like having eyebrows. biggrin

Thanks The Anti. That's it.

I've noticed that he changed his name since. Huh.
He was performing for other magicians at an magicians award/exhibition show.

He also didn't have anyone trained to help him.
He is sooooo lucky he escaped serious injury.

And yes Kat, eyebrows are good. So are eyelashes. I'm shocked mine have grown back despite the many singeing off.

The taste was another less that attractive factor Bleh.

The jerk I dated for a while was a decent fire performer and breather. However, he had a nasty habit of coming home after work, forgetting to brush his teeth, and kissing me. Ugh. I could taste it and would have to remind him to go brush. So gross. I can't imagine putting that in my mouth everyday in large quantities.

And just how many times have you lost your eyebrows and lashes?

I've been working with fire for over a decade I think.
I've logged well over a thousand fire breaths in that time.
Between that and just close work with poi and such...there is no possible way I can count.
The amount would be..wow... eek
(and yes, I've lost my eyelashes to fire poi)

But they are still there! biggrin

What a silly sausage that man is/ was.

Dropping to his knees and burying his face in his crotch would surely have been the best thing to do?

you get some rather funny, and some quite worrying stuff, if you search words like "magician" and "accident" together. can't count how many times i've seen the hold "knife under paper cup" trick go horribly wrong, seen one magician impale a participants hand on a spike, that cost him a few pennies!

guess the moral of the story could be: don't deviate from your planned performance, even if it's going all wrong. or, don't perform anything your not confident enough in

What're you looking at?
I assume you're being rhetorical?

... unless the video camera is recording.

I'm pretty sure that THAT is the moral of the story.

Here's another accident, happened at one of my shows. This is not me nor is it one of my people. The panic response of blowing it out whether or not you still have fuel seems nearly universal.

Hi, my name is Scott Bray AKA Scott Wolf. I'm the Magician/Fire Eater you are looking for. I actually have the master copy of the show I did in Tucson where I got burned. I was doing some research and noticed this sight, what can I do to help with your discussion? My email address is swmagic63@gmail.com or you can find me on Face Book under Scott Wolf or Scott Bray. Thanks and look forward to talking with you.

Wow! I didn't think that the subject of this thread would ever pop-up on it.
Please, share with us what you learned from the experience and what new members to this art should do to never have it happen to them.

:ditto: I think I remember seeing this the first time round though.

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.
