Global Gathering 2006 will be an official record breaker in more ways than one: it will be the BIGGEST EVER UK dance weekender with an increased capacity of 45,000 and it will assemble more superstar DJs to one event than ever before when 175 of the world’s biggest names congregate at the Long Marston Airfield on Friday 28th and Saturday 29th July.

And it doesn’t end there: guests will be invited to relive that ‘summer of love’ euphoria you only experience at outdoor dance events and set a brand new world record for the largest ever group hug. On Saturday afternoon DJs and guests alike will rally together in one almighty huddle to beat the current record held by 5117 students from Ontario, Canada who hugged for 10 seconds. An official application has been made to the Guinness World Records organisation and guests who take part in the hug will all make it into the history books.

I really want to go!
Not only will there be the worlds biggest hug but DAFT PUNK are playing live too. Why does it have to be 2 weeks after Glade frown

Yes you are tight dude. I need to get a job. I also need to see Daft Punk Live.

The admission prices are absolutely obscene though.

£112 + bf weekend camping
£600 + bf 2weekend tickets & 'podpad' (fake chalet thing)
£62 + bf saturday ticket

No friday tickets for Daft Punk frown

I'm hopping mad at my friend (well, ex) for not telling me about the Cochella Festival in California that had Tool, Madonna (yes I know...) and Daft Punk amongst others...

Maybe because I was his ex! Grrrrrr

global will never manager the hugest hug

everyone will be too messy on drugs by the saturday afternoon and wont be acknowledging people to be able to understand what to do

ive been to every global gathering and its always the same

im not going this year after the past 2 years misfortunes of stabbings and robberys and security being too scared to do anything to stop it.

enticed, entrapped, entombed.
intoxicated, impaled, ingested.
bewitched, beaten, broken.

I went to the first 2 and loved it.

There is no way global is anywhere near as scally as creamfields.

A few years ago (this is goign back a bit actually) when we were at creamfields 2 scally girls pushed one of my mates over in front of us and tried to steal the fluffy boots from her legs!
