In the 60's people took acid to make the world weird, now the world is weird and they take prozac to make it normal again.

There's a word we use when we've given a patient a lot of sedating drugs (like morphine, Valium, ketamine in kids, etc.)

"Gorked."

As in "He's pretty gorked."

Other fun words I've run into lately:
"Crump." A verb meaning "to come close to death." It generally involves a combination of the patient failing to breathe and very low blood pressure. Note, although not everyone who crumps dies, most people crump before they die (unless they die suddenly of massive trauma...like getting hit square in the chest with a mortar shell).

Example: "I'm afraid he's gonna crump if his blood counts go any lower."

Then there are some others:
"questionnaire"
"bazooka" (it's an onamatonopoeiaea...or howevr the hek u speel itt)
"natatorium"

But my favorite word ever isn't even an English word. It's a German word from Schiller's "Ode to Joy."

The word is feuertrunken, which means "drunk with fire." weavesmiley

I like cojelo suave. (Pronounced "cohalo suavay".) More of a phrase, I realize. It's Spanish for "take it easy." Though the less known translation is "my Spanish teacher is hot and I want to jump his bones."
