I dont think I have ever seen a guy complain about being presented with "hot chicks all in a row" ubblol

And i don't know if they serve cockles, you might need to ask them. but i'd be careful you explain what you want or you might get a good slapping!

mmm cockles! Salty goodness!

And back on the topic of haggis we have an Australian equivalent that is called 'meat pie' and to the best of my knowledge it contains lips and arseholes as well as other miscellaneous body parts from undisclosed mammal sources.

Doesnt stop me eating them though. Amazing what you can do with a bit of gravy!

The Chinese put all sorts of offal in their cuisine

As mentioned in earlier post - the deep fried intestines which were very nice until I found something in it that should've been washed away more thoroughly.

But I have vivid memories as a 5 year old of mum washing a pig's lung by filling it up with water under the tap and emptying it out again, like a balloon. Was used in soup.

Satay tripe is LOVELY though...

Yep the Chinese have definitely got some crazy stuff going on. Its kind of fun trying to work out what part of the animal it came from. I had Yum Cha the other night and finally worked up the courage to have the chickens feet. Not reccomended! But I admire the way that they use the whole animal, it is a stark contrast to western cultures that throw most of the animal away.

It took me a while to take to teh chicken feet but when done right - marinaded and steamed with black beans it can be lovely.

It's strange what each country considers the delicacy. Over in the west we tend to favour chicken breast but the chinese, it's always an honour or a goodwill gesture to receive/give the chicken drumstick. And some people fight over the fish head as well!.

I love the roe in ANY steamed fish. As a kid it made me feel like I was eating HUNDREDS of fishes at once.

Neon you reming me of the Walrus and the Carpenter wandering down the beach serenading the oysters only to get great satisfaction from consuming the lot. I can picture your eyes lighting up and hands rubbing together when you discover a bounty of roe! Just think of the potential the poor little buggers would have had if you hadnt come along. wink

Dried Oysters are another favourite of mine. Best used in a pork/shiitake/water chestnut/oyster steamed patty or 'meatcake' as they call it (actually literally translated it 'meat biscuit' but it doesn't sound right - then again same for 'moon-biscuit')

So not far off from the truth jungleboy... biggrin
