I'd always heard of breakbeat music... there are so many different styles of hip-hop and techno that I guess I just never really got to sit down and listen to it specificly until this last weekend. There was this awesome DJ at a lounge in my hood that I like spinnin' mostly breakbeat all night long. And it was good.

So all of you breakbeat kids, let me know some more stuff to download, popular breakbeat DJs and other things that a breakbeat newbie like myself can get into... (Please!)

OK. I'm back and begging for more. I've been downloading with some sucess. I'm looking for stuff more like Uberzone's "Bounce"... it's got a beat I can shake my thang to and isn't just scratchin'.

I've got some old scratchin' battles which are cool (Cut Chemist, Short Kut, etc..) but I'm specifically looking for more stuff that's a bit quicker and more of a flow.

Any specific song suggestions? I know that some breakbeat has some driving basslines almost like prodigy's "fire starter" bassline. Maybe like a DJ Shadow's "organ donor" (how good is that song?)...

Song suggestions for the rookie?

Well, shall we go?

Cool!
Anyone catch my learner attempts underneath the Breaksday tree at the Glade? Got in to quite a good rhythm with breakbeat...

breaks is a bit slow for me to be honest, it seems to either plod along at some boring pace or try unsuccsesfully to be Drum and bass.
for me i like to listen to hard house trance or techno if im out, and psytrance for just chilling around the house.
that emit collect tune was ok tho!
