Hey,
Havn't actually used it but did qualify to teach English as a foreign language.
I was given loads of helpful advice and stuff n file, am away for a few days but will dig it out you when i get back.

Contains info on your legal responsibilities, your employers legal responsibilities, money/accomodation etc.
Also schools that are registered in various countries and ones that aren't.

Also my friend hasn't long got back from teaching in Japan for over a year.

His blog space is here and I'm sure he wouldn't mind you asking him a few questions.

Will get back to you on Tuesday with the rest of it.

Can probably even post you a copy of the file if you want? biggrin

My friend Chris did in Japan.

His class was primarily adults who were learning for business, many of them were in hospitality and management.

He was is a smaller city which allowed him to be a bit more culturally immersed as well.

He loved it.
He would love to live there actually.
He even managed to marry one of his students (who coincidentally wanted to live here, so she moved here, married him and they have a lovely little boy. How's that for a living fairy tale?).

Yup...he completely loved it.

I've wanted to teach english in Japan for a few years. But I'm not even in university yet, so I'm just not really going to worry about it too much right now! I think it'd be so much fun to teach young children ^_^

DSS, I spoke to my friend who said I can forward you his contact information if you want someone to talk with about it.

He said that many of the policies have changed in the past couple of years since he was there but he would be happy to answer any of your questions based on his experience.

Just let me know and I will shoot it to you.

I taught english in Japan for two years, and had an amazing experience.

Contact me if you need any information about teaching and language schools.

Now I live in China, I dont teach here, but I know its really easy to get teaching jobs. They don't always pay that well (Japan is the place for making money) but then, you don't need much to live on anyway.
