So I finally found a place to have a dance studio of my very own. A dream come true...to be sure! It is in the basement of a shop here in Rochester called Psychic's Thyme. I am really jazzed up about it. It a quaint and comfy space that I can decorate how I want and there is an area where I can sell things related to my classes, another bonus.
What I will be teaching are:
Forms of Bellydance,
three classes I have designed myself:
Belly Stretch: A blending of the poses of yoga, tai chi, arabic and indian dancing for stretching, flexibility, balance, strength and breathing.
Lyrical Movement: A study of the rhythms of the world and us in it.
Elemental Movement: a combination of different forms of dance and the correlations to the elements.
Also in the works is a veil and flags class, and I will just continually add classes as I see fit.
But they are very body and spirit oriented things...as well as of course the belly for fitness type stuff.
So...now I have to have a name for the studio.
Right now the suggestions are :
Lips and Hips (ummm...no.)
Pele's Palace (something doesn't feel right)
Temple of the Body
.....and I am looking for others. Help!?

Ok so im a bit stuck on the word kinetic.
My only suggestion that has broken free from that obsession is.
Pele's crazy danceshop full of crazy dance education and a lot of entertainment for everyone because dancing is awesome and pele is a very good teacher.
Also I was thinking it would be cool to have guest instructors who are trained in exotic forms of dance you aren't to give them a crash course in other forms of dance. Just to give them inspiration.

At the risk of being boring (a risk I am constantly exposed to...) it would be best to keep the term "dance studio" in the name.
Or somthing else that allows people to read the name somewhere and have at least a general idea that they can learn styles and movements in a studio type setting.
EG

Dreamlife Motion Studio
Lifeflow for Health - Movement Classes
I know they sound boring, however, it's very important from a business point of view to dsitunguish yourself from other 'forms' of dance entertainment, and I've seen a few legit places here in auckland go bust coz the only new people calling were after a massage parlour instead

woooohoooo!! Well done Pele Best of Luck with this project.
I have no ideas for names, other than that which sound like a brothel.
Don't be too afraid of pele's palace - we have an amera's palace here in sydney and it's one of the better known bellydance schools/suppliers around.

Funny that Gaia came up since I had a goddess card reading come up recently and Gaia was my "goddess".
Anything Temple, Palace and Emporium seems either cliche or taken, to me.
And you guys are correct...many seem a little..umm risque?
Astar, I have plans for guest presenters and such, definately. And I am well affiliated with other studios in the area of other styles, so it would work.
