To satisfie my own curiosity I want to find out how many spinners are tail spinners. Tail poi gets alot of flack from people and also there is a perception that our numbers are very small but who knows this might just be an assumption and there might be more of us.

So if your a tail spinner fill in the yes option, if your not fill in the no option, and if you answerd yes let us know who you are and why your a tail fan.

My reason, is that my very first set was a pair of tails and the first time I saw poi spinning on tv was with tails attached.

poi: sock is favorite, then fire then other forms including tails.
Also now spin staff, meteor, a bit of diabolo and juggle clubs and balls.

Joe, you've seen my array of toys. I spin pretty much anything I can get my hands on.

I think spinning different kinds of poi helps you to understand the different possible motions available to you.

We allready have at least two separatist groups, staff and poi spinners. Not to mention glow stringing. Ide only say it was damaging once taken too far.

I like my tails because I learn by seeing things working. I love my socks as they are good for small spaces and windy days, but tails you can see the planes and the moves have to be clean otherwise the tails get tangled. The neon colors are eye catching.
My zuni, I can stall with. I can do reels and ttn. I got my reverse weave with tails when I couldn’t with my socks. I don’t do any neck wraps with them but I do others. I think since as of right now I remain unlit, my tails are my favorite

love my tails! but then again also love my socks (especially my nice 'new' home made ones (old rainbow socks! plus handles biggrin), and flags, and of course fire.
got no real preference, but for 'showy off' purposes, tails seem to be better, or flags... more eye catching!
but i agree, socks are great for small spaces/windy days! i tend to learn new things better with socks too!

If I had a tail, I'd spin it (any excuse to shake my ass wink )

I was a glow chainer(Never stringer too many burns), then found my tights becames quite a wonderous thing as they didnt tangle up in my hands or bag unless I wanted them to and I was able to do more with them as I've never seen tails isolated.

When I first started spinning, I started with Zuni's (there weren't removable tails on 'em yet.) I ended up cutting them off. Then..I lost them. Right now I'm using plain white tube socks, with tennis balls.

I'm waiting on some Ultra poi, which have removable tails. So yes, I'm a tail spinner smile

I used to spin tails, but as they got worn out I used them less and less, and now I've given them to my protoge.

I think they're lousy for practice, but great for show.
