Posted:ok, some of you may have met Dave, Neon Shaolin. If you have you may have noticed that he's a movie genius of sorts.

You know the "5 degrees of Kevin Bacon" game, well he can do it from any modern film to any other modern film! (modern being late 70's ish onward and not to obscure! Give him a chance!)

eg.

Moulin Rouge to Lost Boys

'Moulin Rouge' had Nicole Kidman who was in -

'Eyes Wide Shut' with Tom Cruise who was in

'Minority Report' with Colin Farrell who was in

'Phone Booth' with Kiefer Sutherland who was in

'Lost Boys'

So I challenge everyone to challenge Dave. The rules are

1) No new challenge can be posted until the last has been completed.

2) Anyone can complete an answer if they think they can get it before Mr Shaolin does

3) Be resonable with your film, some independant hippie crap from 1963 linked to Star Wards episode 6 doesn't count tongue

4) They're my rules so nyer nana

To open the challenge, I'll go with

Goonies to Kill Bill biggrin

Let's relight this forum ubblove

The responses I get from this range from 'You rule' to 'you need a life' (which in itself is a complement!)

I've been a film geek since the age of 10 due to reading and memorising the free montly magazines I got from video rental shop across the road. I had a version of the game in my head even before 'Kevin Bacon' as I tried to link every film to my favourite one at the time 'Aliens'. So the networks were already laid when 'Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon'. Though now I'm more stumped by my own success as the networks are too complex to navigate!

Posted:Gayle... Just like the films you like. Life's too short to root out the more obscure stuff. I have my fair share of guilty pleasure/unrepentant pleasure films.

If you do want to check out more obscure films, just buy a film mag like 'Sight and Sound' or 'Empire' (Or your Oz equivalent) or imdb!
Just beware that obscurity doesn't guarantee quality as the arthouse world is just as likely to offer up crap as Hollywood is...

Mrs Sundance to Fame

Dammit Joe!!! You've stumped me again! I had a look at the cast list for Fame and I have no idea who any of them are!!!
I can go via director but that's a restriction I put on myself to make it more difficult...

Hmmmm we can try that....
What happens if the chain is broken when I get stumped?

We take a point, and someone suggests another film to link to from the last one eg.

Jungle Book-> Spsarticus --- stumped

Someone suggests
Jungle Book-> Ben Hur

Next one becomes Ben Hur-> something else

biggrin sounds familiar, i used to do that in my record collection! doesn't work anymore though...

out of curiousity, does it always go the actor route, or can you do director links too?

my challenge btw: Morvern Callar to Road Trip?
