If it's possible to get replacement immobiliser type car keys? I just bought a second hand car off a work mate on monday, but she lost the other key a while back, and I know what I'm like for losing keys..

It's one of those with a chip, though you don't have to press a button or anything, I don't know the proper name. Does anyone know where you can get replacements from? confused

How old is the car?

I'm no expert but you're probably best contacting the manufacturer. I know I had to to get a replacement Ford key.. one of the "keycode" type ones.

Good luck!

What a wonderful miracle if only we could look through each other's eyes for an instant.

Take it to the dealer, they should be able to sort out a new key for you! It might involve reprogramming the immobiliser though (which could be expensive).

Good luck!

My state of mind is not yours to define!

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
