Well, I am about to embark on the journey that almost every other Aussie does at some stage in their life - go and live and work in the UK before I get too old to use the working holiday visa.

So here's the plan, me and the Mr (Richard) get a week of holiday on our way over, rock up to London on about the 25th of May, lodge with some rellies for the first week or two and start looking for somewhere to live. We will spend at least six months maybe more in London and then: Nepal, India, home to OZ for my Dad's 60th, South America, whatever else, then back to UK for another 6-12 months. Ooooh and go to EJC of course.

So here is you opportunity to try and convince me of where and where not to live in London, after heaps and heaps of research I am still not sure.

I guess it depends a bit on where we will be working - don't want to have to spend HOURS on the tube - which as I am a surveyor work is likely to be where there is lots of construction. So, heathrow and new Olympics site are big possibilities.

Only real criteria I have is somewhere I won't be too afraid to walk to the tube at night by myself, and somewhere handy to get to poi meets!!

So, please, edumacate me on where you all think is a good place to live... and what areas to avoid.

(Particularly if you have a room to rent to two wonderful, tidy, easy-going aussies!)

And I will then hopefully get to meet you all and learn lots of new trickses at the Spitz poi meets!! And catch up with all the other travelling friendses!

Vauxhall is not a bad area either...

Have you looked on Gumtree.com?

Are you looking at house sharing or you looking at a place for just the two of you?

Yeah, looked at gum tree, heaps. But that doesn't tell you about the areas, just the houses! I want to know where is good and not!!

Vauxhall - Rich's last name is Vaux so that would be funny.
