Despite already having a fair few juggling balls, I've decided that I want to make some more - ones made of rubber.

But, the rubber sheet has to be thin and flexible enough to sew into a ball and I'm having trouble finding some.
So, does anyone know of somewhere in the uk that I could buy some suitable rubber from?

I'm not entirely sure, I was just going to have a play around and see what worked smile
I suppose that I'll glue them if I have to, or maybe learn how to weld it.

Cheers for the suggestions, I'll have a look around and see what I can find

Table-tennis bat rubbers are very expensive for the amount of rubber you get, plus they come with varying depths of sponge bonded to the back- You would expect to pay between 10 and 20 pounds per side.

I would suggest maybe a 'seals' company, they have a vast range of rubber sheets used to cut into seals , head gaskets and the like, I have bought off cuts from them at a very reasonable price...

find a local company that sells it

If you are struggling, let me have more of idea what you want, as I will be going to buy some rubber sheeting in the next couple of weeks, maybe I can pick some up for you and pass it on at FAL ?

OOh!! Possibly a helpful thread!

I was also looking for rubber, but to make clothes out of so something on a larger scale than would be needed for juggling balls.

Any ideas????

Have you ever had a sprained ankle?

Well, there is this stuff that physiotherapists use, it's called Theraband. It's like a wide, never ending elastic band, that you use to strengthen your ankle again...

Theraband

That'll do you...

You beat me to it! ubblol

They will send you a sample of all colours and thicknesses for about £5 (may have gone up, got mine a number of years ago), full range for more.
Their rubber can be glued or stitched, although it is recommended seams are glued first to hold them, then stitched - use a fine point needle, and make sure it's sharp to avoid tears. Best type of glue is copydex type. Polish afterwards with silicoe polish (available from all good fetich shops ubblol) to make it nice and shiny.

They used to have a minimum order value of £50, so check first. If you only wnat a bit, give me a shout - been meaning to get some to play with for yonks!

If you want some heavier duty stuff, try looking for insertion rubber. It'll probably be fairly expensive, but it's what we use to lay over cable trays when we need to clamber over them and don't want to die. Thick, and the ones i've used have been black on one side and yellow on the other. Not sure where you'd get them from over there...
