looking at [Old link], I'd say your best bet would be to ask strugz - if you can get hold of him!

going to the bjc next week though so I can try asking around then!

I've got 2 of the new concentrate staffs and they are really quite nice (for spinning)

the only down side I have found is having 1 colour pulsing doesn't seem to be an option unless it's white. but there are some really nice effects like a colour pulsing from one end to the other in a continuous rainbow

I like the ability to offset them. simple to change batteries and I imagine the light units for them could be used to make glowpoi too with a simple piece of clear plastic tube and a chain.

for £120 I wouldn't get an aerotech now, lets see how they last.

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

Exactly. fair enough if you have £400 to spend on an aerotech, the Concentrates aren't a bit mid price alternative. much better than the £20-30 ones and cheaper than an aerotech and still with some nice multiple colour setting.

i had em out at 2uberoz - perhaps they're on the video.
i will consider creating a video for em, however that discussion belongs on a concentrate specific thread.

Hi Tim! if u can pass on a copy of any instructions u got with your staves (1.1m doubles is basically what i am after!) then that would be aces!

Ok concentrate lastablility now I've had them since about march / april

Me and sichainey got 2 staffs each, we have only used them for shows and gigs (and a play at firegathering)and already 4 of 8 light units have been sent back (2 of his and 2 of mine). no drops & looked after, to be honest I'm a little disappointed even though "just gigs" is every weekend since May.

the switches seem to be the most likely bit to go although on on one of mine the green LED stopped working leaving me with red and blue colours.

frown

Have got replacement ends but it's a bit of a worry, they work fine you switch it off then next time you go to use it it won't switch on because the button's stopped working. So if your using 1 in a show make sure you have 2 just in case it stops at the worst time, (although to be fair just 1 light unit gives a fair bit of light it just looks a little lop sided)

Really? I've been using mine (2x 1m) for a couple of months now, and they've been dropped a fair few times with no problems.

Its nice to know they were good about the replacement units at least.

If you have spare light units, how much were you charged for them? Might be worth getting a couple.

Si sent back the defective ones and replacement ones were sent back. Occassionally the buttons get a bit stuck but you can take the unit out remove the rubber bung and the small black rubber cover give it a wiggle and it'll be fine.

I'll be honest the 2 units that failed of mine were both in the same staff the other staff has been perfectly good for all that time. I still think they're good for the cost as the only bit likely to go wrong is a small light unit easily posted.

I'd assume they'd make them out of the same polycarb that they make the duos out of (Which I own) And they're sturdy as hell. The flowlights havent missed a beat yet and I've clacked em together a few times pretty well. I'd say especially if you got the middle section they'd be very much durable...

But this reply is only really valid if Tom hadn't played with them as this really is just speculation. ^_^

^^ being that HoP is a forum where expert opinion is found, it makes me smile to see people appropriately qualify their assessments on new toys when they are just speculating.
