TICKETS UPDATE 11th April 2006

==============================

TICKETS ARE NOW ONSALE!! bounce You can follow this link to the online Shop to make your purchase. If you buy a ticket with the forthcoming DVD you will get a £3 discount. Please note that the price of £25 will only be valid until the 13th June

Finally, we have a venue for play biggrin

Thanks for being so patient, the location for PLAY is now confirmed as being at Fordhall Farm, Market Drayton, Shropshire. TF9 3PS

The gates will be open from 10am Thursday 22nd June until 6pm Monday 26th June (yes that's FIVE days biggrin ) and will cost the princely sum of £25 in advance and £30 from two weeks prior to the festival. The tickets will be on sale from Sunday 2nd April right up until the event. The ticket price covers all facilities and events once onsite (bar, food & drink etc excluded of course) all workshops, the show(s), the childrens creche area etc etc etc

A beautiful organic farm set in the countryside (although 5 minutes from the town of Market Drayton) that will make for the most wonderful setting for this years (and hopefully many more) PLAY Festival.

(Please visit the Fordhall Farm website, they need to raise £600,000 by July 2006 to stop this beautiful fertile place from becoming yet another industrial development, if you can help their cause please do so hug )

It has great links to the M6 motorway via the A53 and for non car users we will post all info about the local transport situation asap. There isn't a train station that's particularly close but we will be laying on a PLAY Bus to make collections to/from the station as often as possible to help everyone out. There may be a very small charge for this (ie a quid or two) to cover the cost of the driver etc.

I will keep this post updated and of course keep your eyes on the PLAY Website and forum for the most up to date information.

If you could keep your questions in the PLAY Forum we'd much appreciate it as it will help us keep some control and ensure we answer as many as possible. It'll save Malcolms badwidth a little too.....

Hope to see you all there!

did anyone else notice this from michael on the Play website (on the record attempt)?

"Hey guys its Michael (the guy who organised it) here have spent the last god knows how long doing bueracratic [censored] with the GWR and am currently waiting for a copy of the cetificate to come threw and will then be sending play festival a copy to post on website. we had 201 people in the end big thanks to everyone. if enough people interested have choreographed idiot proof plan for bigger and more effective show. will post stuff on relative forums in jan."

Yeh i noticed smile

I dont want to sound harsh here, but i believe i have the best footage shot of this moment.

I must say coreographed is not a word that springs to mind whilst watching it shrug

I appreciate the effort that went into it but id been keen to see what Guiness are actually saying is a record, because its certanly not the biggest burn, and as mentioned above -doest jump out the screen as being coreographed.

It sounds harsh, but i know if i was a judge for guiness id tun it away............?

sorry guys smile

Does Michael post on here?

Why so you can quickly edit your post to make more friendly? wink tongue

Have to agree with what you were saying elsewhere though - Burning Man has a MUCH larger sync'd burn.
BUT, as with our Diabolo throw height record, there isn't currently a record - so anything you set WILL be the record, albeit temporarily biggrin

It wasnt that great as the dude filming spent alot of time zoomed in to see what was going on. ubblol

Ive got 4 angles of the whole thing and not one of them shouts "coreography" biggrin

shrug

Either way it looks sweet and will be on the dvd smile

ah, sounded like you were talking about a still somehow..

I wasn't intending to imply I didn't think burning man probably had it bigger, people were talking about that at the time. '500 + doing it at bm' etc, though they all seemed to think they were just free spinning.

I guess the important bit's the attempt at choreography, it doesn't matter how inept people are wink

is it really that bad or is it just that their chosen stall looks almost the same as their chosen action move?

i wouldnt say its that bad at all.....

it just looks like a "mass burn" thats all,...... the timing is off and there are some confused / impatient people that start / dont start when they are supposed to, from a distance at the big top it looks like a swarm of fireflies (which is real nice and is very likley to make the dvd front menu somewhere)

you'll see soon enuf wink
