TICKETS UPDATE 11th April 2006

==============================

TICKETS ARE NOW ONSALE!! bounce You can follow this link to the online Shop to make your purchase. If you buy a ticket with the forthcoming DVD you will get a £3 discount. Please note that the price of £25 will only be valid until the 13th June

Finally, we have a venue for play biggrin

Thanks for being so patient, the location for PLAY is now confirmed as being at Fordhall Farm, Market Drayton, Shropshire. TF9 3PS

The gates will be open from 10am Thursday 22nd June until 6pm Monday 26th June (yes that's FIVE days biggrin ) and will cost the princely sum of £25 in advance and £30 from two weeks prior to the festival. The tickets will be on sale from Sunday 2nd April right up until the event. The ticket price covers all facilities and events once onsite (bar, food & drink etc excluded of course) all workshops, the show(s), the childrens creche area etc etc etc

A beautiful organic farm set in the countryside (although 5 minutes from the town of Market Drayton) that will make for the most wonderful setting for this years (and hopefully many more) PLAY Festival.

(Please visit the Fordhall Farm website, they need to raise £600,000 by July 2006 to stop this beautiful fertile place from becoming yet another industrial development, if you can help their cause please do so hug )

It has great links to the M6 motorway via the A53 and for non car users we will post all info about the local transport situation asap. There isn't a train station that's particularly close but we will be laying on a PLAY Bus to make collections to/from the station as often as possible to help everyone out. There may be a very small charge for this (ie a quid or two) to cover the cost of the driver etc.

I will keep this post updated and of course keep your eyes on the PLAY Website and forum for the most up to date information.

If you could keep your questions in the PLAY Forum we'd much appreciate it as it will help us keep some control and ensure we answer as many as possible. It'll save Malcolms badwidth a little too.....

Hope to see you all there!

oh quick question sorry if it's come up because I don' have time to read the 280 posts since I was last about (aprt from he last 2 pages)

is there a schedule for workshops yet? or do we have to plan when we get there? I ask because i can never suss out the play site although lots of stuff been put up recently I want to know what toys I should bring (limited space in car see)

Mynci were you not at the first Play? The workshop lists were organised to times in a big chalk board which could be seen at the main desk, I'm assuming it will be the same this year smile

Workshops

Hello everyone, yes as similar to last year we will have all workshops organised formally on the black board that will be in the workshop area.

We have a workshop master of ceremony, who is Rossco, he will be guiding and giving information to everyone while they're on. You'll also get a programme when you arrive that will have rough times of each main group of workshops, but for confirmed times please check the blackboards smile

If they clash we're really sorry but with so many going on it's near impossible for everyone to attend every workshop available smile We'll try out best tho!! biggrin

no sleeps till play bounce Well it's 4 nights but I doubt I'll be sleeping much!! ubblol

Latest Newsletter in case we don't have your email smile

Hello Everyone, three days left, we hope you’re almost packed and ready to come along!!

Lots of things are happening behind the scenes and if the weather holds off (or even if it doesn’t as we have loads on indoor space) we’re in for a great festival!

We have bands playing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night and dj’s playing before and after each nightly performance show. We have two fire shows outside and a cricus/caberet show inside our bigtop along with the Guiness World Record for largest choreographed fire spin as dusk falls on Sunday evening. We hope you can all stay late enough to take part in the record!! If you’re unlucky enough to be leaving early on Sunday and maybe even into work on Monday it’s certainly worth staying late to take part in and being a little tired the next day, you can always tell your boss “sorry I’m late, I was busy breaking a Guinness World Record last night” I’m sure it’s an excuse they haven’t heard before!

We have tons or workshops planned as usual, the current list is below and more confirmations are coming in everyday. There will be a rough timetable given at the gate but a main black board will keep you all up to date on exact timings etc. If you want to offer a workshop once you’ve arrived just get in touch with Rossco, he’ll be very easy to find with a big megaphone directing eveyone!!

Workshops (Friday, Saturday and Sunday):

Juggling juggle
3 / 4 clubs
3/4/5 balls

Other
Bar Flair
Ropedart
Knitting
Poker Chip Playing
Hand Drumming
Origami Modular Creation and Assembly
Hula Hoop
Body Popping

Devil Stick
Fire Safety Workshop
Baloons hats and shapes
and Clowning

In the Kids area there will be; Unicycles, Stilts, Funwheels/Pedalos, Diablos, Skwosh Balls, Devil Sticks, Spinny Plates, Poi, Spacehopper, Hula Hoops, Walking Globe, face painting and lots of fun. Also Magic Martin will be along Saturday and Sunday afternoon with magic show and more face painting

Sensory Solutions will also be giving sight, smell and taste workshops in their lovely marquee to help you get back in touch with nature and explore the wonderful world or plants and herbs.

And maybe, if we’re lucky and Garthy is still up for it there might even be a chocolate eating and pimms drinking workshops lol

See you all soon!!
