There's quite a few good local and visiting fieries around Byron at the moment.. Solar (Firenix Luke Viv and Gina), Jay and Stef ( amazing French poi boys), Steve and Dan (Liquiphi).. doing shows and stuff but also may well be up for plays... most of these folks will be at Exodus Festival on this coming weekend... see if you can fit that in your trip, if it's quick...

Otherwise the Arts Factory often has shows/buskers etc which is a good place to meet people.

Byron Bay is these days very much a tourist town... expensive and focused on fleecing transients, so that the formerly interesting local 'scene' is pretty much gone as people have moved away to more affordable and genuine places. Plus they are very strict on busking. If anything is going on it is likely to be at the Arts Factory, where sometimes there are workshops and circus/fire type performances in the bar/garden. Mind you you might luck in to a week when there's a whole lot of travelling fire folk in town and have a ball! Good luck.

At Easter (23rd March) there is also [url=https://www.bluesfest.com.au/]a Blues and Roots festival[/url that you might like. They have really great acts, but unfortunately an unpleasant overcrowded environment that makes it hard to actually enjoy them! Plus the usual issue with accommodation.

Look forward to meeting you in Bris though
