I arrived home from work yesterday afternoon to find my front door kicked in and my house in quite a state. Drawers had been emptied out and a few things stolen, including my mobile phone (which I stupidly left at home yesterday) and Jordan’s laptop.

I was slightly rattled when I saw the front door open and the deadlock broken on the ground, however I did have a bit of fun getting into Charlie's Angel mode when I first got home. Pulled the bike up into the driveway, noticed the front door open so left my helmet & jacket on and skulked around making sure the place was clear, All I really needed was someone else there so I could say "cover me" as I opened a door with my fingers loaded.

The police came and dusted for prints (no joy), and the locksmith came and re-attached the lock so we could at least close the door. We got lucky really.... they emptied out some drawers (including my underwear drawer... talk about feeling violated!) However, loads of expensive computer and sound equipment, not to mention a very nice motorcycle with keys out on the table were left alone. Petty thieves indeed. Ashbury is a very quiet suburb and break-ins are rare.

Got a call from Newtown police who had received an item of Jordan's we didn't even know was stolen. Strange thing is, we're not really anywhere near Newtown... Either junkies living close to my suburb and going to Newtown to score, or something a little more sinister....

Anyway Ihave lost everyone’s numbers. Can you please PM me yours (Rozi especially)?

Thanks guys smile

Moon Pixie - I'm fine. My hackles were slightly raised last night. Couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched. I thought I would have a terrible nights sleep, however the angels totally blessed me and I had beautiful amazing lucid dreams and a very restful sleep.

Just feel a bit voilated. Time to get the smudge stick out methinks.

I got robbed when at uni... person knew when the house was gonna be empty over the holiday...

I went round a mates house a few months later and saw a VERY rare CD and my personal CD player (old with black pen on it) poking out from under a blanket....

Obviously I shopped the bugger.

Hope you're OK my dear and they can catch the gits who did it.

Theivery gets my goat no end mad

A couple of balls short of a full cascade... or maybe a few cards short of a deck... we'll see how this all fans out.

I know how awful it is being robbed. Last year I got robbed, (stole all my jewlerry - family heirlooms & such). I was annoyed about that, but what got to me the most was the fact that someone else had been in my home, snooping around my belongings, etc...

hug2 hug hug2

Were you insured for the belongings?

Yeah, this is when we count our blessings. You've lost material things, but you're in one piece and unharmed.

Sucks, is inconvenient and probably a hell of a loss if you weren't insured...

I hate the violated feeling, too. Like when I found a TSA flyer in my luggage once I got to Burning Man. Someone had looked through all my stuff, seen all my fire gear (which I don't care about), but also they had seen other, more personal effects...

...such as the handcuffs I was taking in case I had to discipline some *koff koff* misbehaving Burner... redface

I generally assume that my stuff will be searched. I'm certain that airport security has seen more 'adult items' than anybody else in the world.

Sucks about the robbery though. hug

Well, shall we go?
Yes, let's go.

oh flash, I feel for ya, that's happened to me (except my windows not front door) and the feeling of violation takes a while to go away. A smudge stick or complete smokeout of the house with some cleansing incense would really help.

I know what you feel when your house 's burgled. That happened to me during spring 2004, thanksfully I had brought my laptop with me at the party I was invited to because I was the DJ. It's like being raped, you feel someone has entered your privacy, disgusting (although I'm aware being raped is much worse...). The sad thing is that the house had been burgled one year before (my housemates told me) and its has been burgled once more 2 months ago (one month before my housemate left the house). That was in Dundalk, Ireland. Now I understand why there are alarms everywhere on the houses, something I hadn't seen before....

Flashfire - you poor thing. Train your puppy to guard the house (although mine would be much more likely to give them a lovely tongue bath then lead them to the valuables...)

That's AWFUL! Who would do a thing like that? The more stuff like this I read, the more I realise how lucky I've always been with the people I meet.

karmicly i know both sides of the story here.......... as a stupid, easily led teen someone came up with the idea " lets break into some holliday boats and see if we can nick some fishing gear".

so long storey short, 13 counts of breaking and entering, theft and handling stolen goods i end up in court, get fined, and punished........... few years later i have a nice mountain bike (all aluminium) it gets stolen, i feel so angry someone has broken intop my shed and taken my pride and joy.

it sucks but i suppose thats karma
